Leader Meets People from Various Social Backgrounds on Eid Al-Ghadir

Thousands of Iranians called on the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei on Friday, December 29.

In an address to thousands of enthusiastic people on Friday morning, the leader, delineating the deep aspects of the auspicious Eid Al-Ghadir, referred to the continuous striving and movement towards the creation of the Islamic community aspired to by Imam Ali as the current requirement of the Iranian nation and the great lesson that the Ghadir holds for them.

Hundreds of Ulama, Scholars, Clergymen and Theology Students of Yazd Province Call on the Leader

Speaking at a gathering, which was attended by Hundreds of ulama, scholars, clergymen and theology students of Yazd province, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, pointed to the occurrence of complicated economic, financial, political and social problems, and described modern society's need for theology as greater than ever before. He referred to insight, adoption of a comprehensive perspective, piety, enhancing scientific capabilities and responding to the needs of all people from various social backgrounds as a requirement of the present-day clergy.

In an address to the audience, the Leader stated that the main objective pursued by the Iranian nation is to attain a thriving, monotheistic, dynamic, hopeful, just, self-confident, progressive and advanced society characterized by reliance on Almighty Allah and imbued with the spirit of commitment and self-sacrifice. Describing culture as the motive force of society, he added that culture is the most important factor contributing to the accomplishment of the above objective.
