Sayyid Hashem Safieddine, who previously served as the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, was elected secretary-general following the martyrdom of Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah. However, just days later, on October 3, 2024, he was martyred in an Israeli airstrike in Dahiyeh, south of Beirut. His pure body was buried on February 24, 2025, after his funeral was held alongside Martyr Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah as the two martyred Secretary-Generals of Hezbollah.

In a recent interview with the Arabic Khamenei.ir, Ziayd al-Nakhalah, the Secretary-General of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), spoke about the desperation of the Zionist regime in ceasefire negotiations. "All the Palestinian Resistance groups will participate with strength in the funeral procession of these two martyrs," he stated.
