In the Pahlavi era, one of the most promoted propaganda was, "we cannot do it"
In the Pahlavi era, one of the vastly spread propaganda was "we cannot do it". All of us were brought up with the idea that the Iranian products are poor, inferior and of low quality; ‘Iranian’ is the equivalent for the inability to produce quality products in all arenas. They had institutionalized this culture in the mind of our nation, while the reality is totally different. This nation is a nation that can do it, can produce, can grow, can innovate, and can break through the boundaries of science and technology and advance.

Efforts should be made to preserve the memories of the Sacred Defense
Efforts should be made to preserve the memories of the epical events created by the Iranian people during the eight years of the Sacred Defense for the present and future generations, so that the young and coming generations may know that the Iranian people, relying on Almighty Allah, stood up to a wide-scale international aggression against their country empty-handed and turned out victorious in this confrontation, and so that they may recognize the grandeur and capabilities of our nation and follow the path of their previous generations with honor and dignity.

A society that believes in Mahdawiyyah grows heartened
A society believing in Mahdi receives oriflamme and warmth in their hearts. This spirit is very important for nations. Know that colonialism gained the upper hand on Muslim countries after putting fear in the nations' hearts. They felt vulnerable, and powerless. Then they were conquered powerfully. It's the same today... Feeling weakened is a dangerous feeling and a deadly poison for a nation. One of the blessings of believing in Mahdawiyyah is feeling reassured, and heartened. It makes one feel powerful. And our nation feels this way, thanks be to God.

The sacred existence of Imam Mahdi (a.s.) is a continuation of the prophets’ movements and divine calls
The sacred existence of Imam Mahdi (a.s.) is a continuation of the movement of divine prophets and their calls, since the beginning of the history till today. As you read in Nodbeh supplication, there is a related and attached sequence in the history of mankind since the time of Adam till the last prophet-- prophet Muhammad (pbuh)-- followed by his successors and his progeny, reaching Imam Mahdi. This means the great movement of the prophets and the divine calls by the prophets have never stopped throughout history. Humanity has always needed a prophet, a divine call, and the individuals who call the people to worship God. And this need persists today. As the time has passed, humanity has become closer to the prophets' teachings. Today, with advances in intellectuality, civilization and wisdom, human societies have come to comprehend many of the teachings of the prophets which were not understandable for them tens of centuries ago. The topics of justice, freedom, human dignity, etc. -- which are popular in the world today-- were originally raised by the prophets. At the time of the prophets, the masses of the people could not comprehend these concepts. The fact that the prophets were sent consecutively and their message spread, has made these thoughts inherent in the people's minds, hearts and nature-- generation after generation. Those messengers of Allah have not stopped their succession: Imam Mahdi (a.s.) assures the succession of the honorable messengers of Allah. That is, you can see the call by Abraham, Moses, Jesus, the call by all the prophets and redeemers sent by God and the call by prophet Muhammad (pbuh) represented in Imam Mahdi (a.s.). His excellency is the heir of all of them and holds their flag, inviting the world to the same teachings that the prophets have brought over time and have offered to humanity. This is an important point.

What are the epitomes of awaiting salvation?
Awaiting redemption and salvation [through the reappearance of Imam Mahdi] in our era-- when humans are afflicted with oppressions and sufferings-- is an example of awaiting redemption; however, awaiting redemption has other forms, too. When we are told to await redemption, it does not only refer to the final redemption [reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.s.)]. Instead, it means that any dead-end can be opened; any problem can be resolved. This is the true meaning of redemption: salvage. Learning from awaiting, a Muslim is taught redemption and is taught that there is no dead-end in human life which cannot be opened; or that humans can lose hope and stop acting on the pretext that it would be useless. Never! When at the final stage of human life, against the myriad of oppressive and merciless actions, the sun of redemption will rise, then, in daily dead-ends of life, redemption is expected, too. This is the lesson of hope for all humans; this is the lesson that true awaiting offers to all the humans. Thus, awaiting redemption is regarded as the best of actions.

Rely on God
Always remain on God's side. Have faith in Him. Do not stop relying on Allah the Exalted. Have faith in the great power that Allah the Exalted has built into your hearts, your minds, your willpower and your bodies. You should know that you can move mountains with the power that has been bestowed on you. The Iranian people might seem like a calm ocean sometimes, but once they are stirred, they will give rise to devastating tsunamis. If this great ocean with its religious depth is stirred into action, our youth can accomplish great achievements. These great achievements will not be confined to battlefields, rather great accomplishments will be made in the arena of science, in the arena of social issues, in the arena of culture, in the arena of establishing moral virtues and promoting them among people, in the arena of technology and scientific advances. You dear youth are capable of such achievements and miracles. You dear people of Iran are capable of such things.
