The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, reviewed elite military units in the provincial city of Shahroud on the fourth day of his tour of Semnan Province on Saturday, November 11.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the national anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran was played when the Leader entered the parade ground of the Zolfaqar 58th Commando Division. Then, Ayatollah Khamenei paid tribute to the martyrs of the Sacred Defense in front of the Martyrs Memorial.
Further during the ceremony, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces reviewed the elite military units present on the parade ground.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Leader described the Iranian Armed Forces as emanating form the people and serving the public. He stated that the Iranian Armed Forces are proud that they are capable of doing everything that is necessary for defending the Iranian nation through their reliance on and deep trust in Almighty Allah.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the fact that human beings throughout the world are falling victim to the malicious goals of hegemonic powers.
"In such a world as this, in order for independent nations to preserve their honor and dignity and maintain their security, they should rely on the firm determination of their youth, and they should also boost their religious faith," Ayatollah Khamenei remarked.
Further in his statements, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces described the present era as one of the important and decisive stages for the Iranian nation. He also underlined the heaviness of the duties that have been entrusted to the Iranian military officials and armed forces.
"The Iranian Armed Forces should be possessed of good training and discipline, strong will, awareness, solidarity and harmony, and they should display innovation and creativity and perform their duties and responsibilities in the best possible manner," he told the audience.
Ayatollah Khamenei also stated that the Iranian people have been able to thwart the enemies' deceit and stratagem through their dignity, power and high status on the international scene. He added that the Iranian nation's honor and dignity as well as material and spiritual power should be further deepened and increased.
At the ceremony, the chief commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army Major General Ata'ollah Salehi welcomed the Leader of the Islamic Republic. Also, the senior army commander in Semnan Province Brigadier General Khalafi presented a report on the military units in the region and their readiness and capabilities.
At the end of the ceremony, the elite military units present on the parade ground marched past the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces.
