Sanctions must be removed first; then we’ll carry out our commitments

As is customary every year, the Qur’anic Recitation Ceremony, which is held on the first day of the month of Ramadan, was held in the presence of the Leader of the Revolution. It was broadcast live on radio and television channels as well as on the official social media accounts of KHAMENEI.IR. Due to the health guidelines issued by the National Committee on Combating Coronavirus, which restrict public gatherings, this ceremony was held by way of the videoconference with a number of outstanding reciters of the Holy Qur’an in attendance in the Imam Khomeini Musallah. In this ceremony, Imam Khamenei emphasized that the other parties have not fulfilled their promises dozens of times and they have acted against them. That is why they must first do what the Islamic Republic says, “First the sanctions must be removed, then Iran will carry out its commitments in the JCPOA.”

The book “Evenings of Keriskan” is Mr. Amir Saeedzadeh’s [also known as Saeed Sardashti] memoirs about his pre-revolutionary activities, his endeavors during the Sacred Defense Era and later his captivity in the prisons of Komala and the Kurdish Democratic grouplet. These memoirs have been compiled by Kianush Golzar Raghib and published by Soore Mehr Publications. The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has written a commendation on the book which says, “Despite the fact that I have seen and known some of the Kurdish forces who supported the Islamic Republic from up close, their self-sacrifices that have been described in this book are completely new and astonishing to me. The role of the mother and the wife are truly brilliant as well. The narrator’s and his family’s courage are exemplary. The same is true of some of the other Kurdish personalities mentioned in the book. In addition to this brilliant conduct, the malicious, vicious behavior of those who deceitfully portrayed themselves as the representatives of the honorable Kurdish people has been well described in this book.” On the occasion of the “10th Commemoration of Jihad and Resistance Literature” and the publication of the Leader’s commendation on “Evenings of Keriskan”, Khamenei.ir is publishing an Op-ed written by Mr. Alireza Mokhtarpur Qahrudi, the Chairman of the Public Libraries Association.

Building a new Islamic civilization based on the concept of awaiting

Belief in the reappearance of the 12th Imam has always been stressed in the Shi’a faith, and it has led to a duty which is known as “awaiting.” “Awaiting deliverance” (Intizar faraj means the reappearance of the 12th Imam) has always been an influential factor for creating movement and dynamism in the Shi’a community. It has helped for people not to have any fears or concerns in the face of various problems and obstacles so that they may prepare the ground for the movement of the Imam of the Time (may God hasten his reappearance). From the viewpoint of Imam Khamenei, awaiting deliverance has a special status.
