The story of a nation that has decided to resist

This movement is not just a nuclear movement. Today their pretext is the nuclear issue. They use the nuclear pretext to impose sanctions on us. How long is it since the nuclear issue was first brought up? The sanctions have been there for thirty years. Why were they imposing sanctions on us when the nuclear issue did not exist? It is just a matter of fighting a nation that has decided to become independent, a nation that has decided to resist oppression, a nation that has decided to expose oppression, a nation that has decided to stand up against oppressors and oppression, a nation that is determined to convey this message to the entire world. We have tried to convey this message and by Allah's favor, we will try even harder in the future. Sanctions, political pressure and other such things will not be effective. When a nation decides to stand firm, when a nation believes in divine assistance and its domestic power and capacities, nothing can stand in its way.

Nukes do not bring about power

The purpose of the uproar they cause is to stop us. They know that we are not after nuclear weapons. They already know this. I do not have any doubts that in the countries that are opposed to us, the organizations in charge of decision-making are fully aware that we are not after nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are not at all beneficial to us. Moreover, from an ideological and fiqhi perspective, we consider developing nuclear weapons as unlawful. We consider using such weapons as a big sin. We also believe that keeping such weapons is futile and dangerous, and we will never go after them. They know this, but they stress the issue in order to stop our movement. We want to prove to the world that nuclear weapons do not bring about power. This is because the nuclear powers are suffering from the biggest problems today. They dominated the world through nuclear threats, but today such threats are no longer effective. We want to say that we are not after nuclear weapons, that we do not believe nuclear weapons bring about power and that we can break the kind of power that is based on nuclear weapons. Leader: Massive Voter Turnout Harms Enemies

Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met today with thousands of religious scholars, government officials and ordinary citizens from East Azerbaijan. At the meeting, His Eminence referred to the upcoming parliamentary elections and said that the enemies are making widespread efforts to discourage the people from taking part in the elections. He added that massive presence of the people in the elections will harm the enemy and force him to back down.

Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met this morning with the Palestinian Prime Minister, Ismail Haniya. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence said that the people of nations, particularly the Islamic Ummah, support the Palestinian resistance groups. He added that the resistance of the Palestinian people and resistance groups has contributed to the recent victories in Palestine and the recent wave of Islamic Awakening in the region.

The birth of the Prophet (pbuh) is the greatest Eid for all of humanity throughout human history

We Muslims only need to become familiar with the personality of the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.). Of course, we believe that the entire humanity should benefit from the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) and they do, but we members of the Islamic Ummah should be the first to do so. Allah the Exalted prepared him for the greatest mission in the history of mankind. Imam Sadiq (a.s.) said, “The Almighty God educated His Messenger well and when he had educated him to perfection, he said: surely you have a great character. Then He entrusted him with the affairs of Islam and the Ummah so that he could educate His servants and manage their affairs.” Allah the exalted educated him and helped him improve. He provided him with all the means that he required for this great and historic achievement and then He put this heavy responsibility and this heavy and historic mission on his shoulders. Therefore, maybe we can say that today – which is the 17th of Rabi al-Awwal and the birthday anniversary of the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) – is the greatest Eid in the history of mankind, a day on which Allah the Exalted bestowed this great gift on humanity and on the history of mankind. And the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) rose up relying on the tools he had been equipped with.

What was Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) like prior to his appointment to prophethood?

We know how the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) lived during his childhood and youth and before his be’that. He was so trustworthy that all members of Quraysh and all the Arabs who knew him would refer to him as “Muhammad the Trustworthy”. He used to treat people so fairly that when the Arab tribes were fighting over who was more qualified to return Hajar al-Aswad to its original place in Kaaba, they decided that he should be the arbiter. This was while he was a young man. This shows that he used to treat people fairly and everybody knew this. Everybody considered him honest and trustworthy. This was how he lived during his youth. And when God appointed him as prophet, he engaged in selfless struggle and resistance like that. Everybody was against him at that time. All that pressure during the first 13 years of his prophethood in Mecca: what difficult years! The Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) stood firm and with his resistance, he trained Muslims to stand firm and not yield to any kind of pressure. These things are lessons for us. Later on, he established a civil society and he did not rule more than ten years, but he founded a society that remained the peak of human achievements in science, civilization, spiritual progress, ethical progress and wealth.

Leader: Unity, Urgent Need for Islamic Ummah

In a meeting with government officials, ambassadors of Islamic countries and participants of the 25th Conference on Islamic Unity, Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that unity is an urgent need for the Islamic Ummah. He referred to the awakening of the regional nations and added: "The regional developments and revolutions, the repeated retreats of America and the organizations affiliated with the arrogant powers, and the increasing weakness of the Zionist regime are exceptional opportunities for the Islamic Ummah and we should make the best of these opportunities."

The west has resorted to the tactic of simulation and replication of Islam

In the decades of Islamic Awakening – especially during the recent years after being defeated in Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine and most lately in Egypt, Tunisia and other countries – the west has resorted to the tactic of simulation and replication. The aim is to pass off terror operations against the people as martyrdom operations, prejudice, rigidity and violence as Islamism and jihad, ethnic and tribal tendencies as a tendency towards Islam and building an Islamic Ummah, westoxication and economic and cultural dependence as independent progress, secularism as scientism, concessions as rationality, moral corruption and unscrupulous behavior as freedom, dictatorship as order and security, consumerism, materialistic tendencies and aristocracy as development and progress, and poverty and backwardness as spirituality and piety.
