Mubahala shows the extraordinary importance of clarifying the truth: Ayatollah Khamenei

Long ago in Arabia there was to be a debate between Mohammad (PBUH) and Christians of Najran. The debate was traditionally known as Mubahala, which occurred on the 10th year of AH. The prophet (pbuh) decided to participate in Mubahala and took up an invitation to meet with the Christians. During the event each side was to condemn the liar, asking God for punishment. However, when the Christian delegation saw the immaculate faces of the Prophet (PBUH) and his family (Ahlul Bait) including: Imam Ali, Lady Fatima Zahra, Imam Hassan, and Imam Hussain (PBUT), they were astonished; thus, they refrained from seeking condemnation towards the prophet and his household (PBUT). They knew that the prophet’s dua and his family’s duas (PBUT) would be accepted, so the Bishop of Najran asked the prophet (PBUH) for forgiveness and compromise. Martyrs’ memory and names will not become old and lost

Despite the fact that about 28 years have passed from the end of the Sacred Defense Era, martyrs’ memory and names will not become old and lost. The reason is that Allah the Exalted has said, “They are alive in presence of their Lord” [The Holy Quran, 3: 169]. They are alive, as are all martyrs in history. So many great ulama, great personalities and great politicians have passed away throughout history, but only a few of them are remembered by society. However, the memory of the individuals who have been recognized as martyrs is and will continue to be alive. The same is true of our martyrs...This is because martyrs are the deliverers of a happy message: “And with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them in their bliss, the martyrs glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they cause to grieve” [The Holy Quran, 3: 170]. Martyrs say to us that we should not have any fear and worry. They say to us that we should not be disappointed and hopeless.

Optimism towards the future thanks to the revolutionary youth

The general movement of the country is fortunately a good movement. I am well-informed about the conditions. This is because officials refer to me a lot. They write letters, meet with me, deliver messages and present the tasks that have been accomplished and I show patience and look at many of them. Thankfully today, the youth who are seriously working on the revival of Islam and establishing religion in the country are increasing on a daily basis. These are the same youth who will, by Allah’s favor and grace, bring every enemy – including America and Zionism – to their knees. When I say frequently in different speeches that I am optimistic about the future, this is because of witnessing these realities. We have many good realities that can help us move forward and that can lead the general movement of society. Good, pious and prepared youth and those who shed tears for presence in the arenas of jihad and defense of the country and religion – they shed tears so that they are allowed to go and defend - are many. The issue is not about two, ten, a hundred individuals. This is a motivation that will save the country. This motivation should be strengthened.
