On the occasion of Eid Al-Adha and Eid Al-Ghadir, Ayatollah Khamenei agreed to Iran’s judiciary Chief’s request to pardon or reduce the sentences of 582 convicts at Public and Revolutionary Courts, the Judicial Organization of Armed Forces, and the State Discretionary Punishment Organization.
Ayatollah Amoli Larijani, the Chief of Iran’s Judiciary Branch, penned a letter to Ayatollah Khamenei, asking his Eminence to reduce or pardon the sentences of 582 convicts who were deemed eligible for clemency, according to the Central Pardon and Clemency commission of the Judiciary Branch.
In accordance with article 11 of Act 110 of the Islamic Republic’s constitution, Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, agreed to the request.
