Younes Ostad Sarayi, also known as Mirza Kuchak Khan, was born in Gilan. In his youth, he studied Theology. He was one of the revolutionaries in the Constitutional Movement, and he stood up against the Qajar Dictatorship and against Reza Khan Pahlavi. Mirza Kuchak Khan was the leader of the Jungle Movement of Gilan for a time during World War I.
