The Iranian police force is a manifestation of security in the Islamic republic
Security is a fundamental need for human beings: "Who provides them with food against hunger and with security against fear" [The Holy Quran, 106: 4]. Allah the Exalted shows off these things to the addressees of this ayah as two great divine blessings: saving people from hunger and from insecurity. The moral health of the police is more important than any other military force in Iran
As we said, the Police Force is the representative of the Islamic government. It is the representative of the Islamic Republic among the people. The moral health of the personnel is very important. You are different from other military forces. You are among the people and the people are in contact with you. God forbid, any wrongdoing, flaw, problem, misbehavior and wrong measure will immediately be reflected. This is the case for the Police Force more than any other organization. Perhaps there are very few organizations in the country which are in contact with the people as much as you are. Therefore if - God forbid - there is any problem, wrongdoing and treachery, it will immediately spread among the people. When it spreads, it is not only the reputation of the Police Force that will be ruined. Rather, everyone's reputation will be ruined. The most important of which is intra-organizational health - should receive attention. This moral health should receive attention because it will affect others outside the organization as well. They render services in different ways - on roads, in cities, in police stations and on the streets. This is very valuable and it is necessary to express our gratitude. The Police Force can really build the reputation of the Islamic Republic. Power accompanied by mercy or suppression?
The Police Force is both the manifestation of the power of the system and order that wants to ensure and provide the security of the country and the manifestation of affection, sympathy and kindness to all the people. However, an important point in this regard is that showing power should not be confused with showing oppression. You should not confuse power with crossing boundaries and moving forward in an unbridled way. For example, in some countries - such as America - the police is very powerful. They show muscle-bound people on camera who work as police officers and who arrest the people in the middle of the arena. Well, they are powerful, but they kill the innocent. For example, they kill a person by shooting 15, 16 bullets at him with the excuse that he wanted to draw a gun. This power is not an ideal power because it is accompanied by oppression. This is a kind of power which will not lead to security in the end. On the contrary, it will lead to insecurity. In fact, it is the main factor in creating insecurity. And as you have heard, when they go to a court of law, they acquit them.
In any case... blacks are ignored and humiliated. Besides, their lives are in danger as well. Such police power is not what Islam and we want. We do not at all like to give a cinematic and Hollywood-like color to our police work on the streets. We want tasks to be carried out in the real sense of the word. That is to say, we want complete authority and power accompanied by justice, kindness and mercy - in certain cases, power should be accompanied by mercy. This is the manifestation of Islam. On the one hand, the Holy Being is Beneficent and Merciful and on the other hand, He is a Great Punisher. These two things should be considered together. This should spread in the different levels of the pyramid and affect our lives, behavior and affairs. The same thing should be done in the Police Force. [Apr 26, 2015]
Hollywood movies, a facade for police brutality in the US
Some people focus all their efforts on humiliating insiders, themselves and the people. They say, “We are nothing” and they say this in different ways. They sing the praises of such and such a country, people and their behavior. However, such praise is most of the time wrong and it is done in a cinematic fashion. In movies, when police show up and when they want to arrest someone, from the beginning, they say, “Be careful, whatever you say will be used against you in a court of law.” This means that such police are so honorable that they say, from the beginning, to the suspect – a person who may be a criminal – that they should be careful lest no stupid comment comes out of their mouth because it may be used against them in a court of law. Are western police like this? Are American police like this? This is the work of Hollywood movies. American police arrest someone, then they begin to beat, shoot at and kill them. They shoot at and kill someone because of carrying a toy gun in their pocket. So, are police like this? Movies falsely ornament courts of law, police, the executive branch and the like. Blinding protestors, the French police in action
Notice that they are blinding their own people on the streets of Paris! The people demonstrating on the streets of Paris are attacked by the armed forces of the French government and many of whom lose their eyesight! They treat their people like this, but they ask us to respect human rights. Well, what is it to you? What is your claim on human rights which entitles you to question another nation about it? Do you have any idea about human rights? They have no idea about human rights! This is not just the case today, nor was it the case in the past and throughout their history. They are like this. We have witnessed this many times on different matters. France, England, this country and that country are all like this, but in different ways. Their behavior is like this.[Feb 8, 2019]
