The President-Elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who was elected President of the Islamic Republic by polling the majority of votes cast in the runoff election on June 24, called on the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei on Sunday, June 26.
Ahmadinejad met the Leader of the Islamic Republic after the final results of the 9th presidential election were officially announced by the relevant government organs.
Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed hopes that the elected president will succeed in performing his momentous responsibilities. The Leader also offered some necessary guidelines to the new president of the Islamic Republic.
