In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I received the news of the demise of Hojjatoleslam Sheikh Mohammad-Taqi Bohlul, an upright and pious cleric, with sorrow and regret. This virtuous and devoted servant of Allah who spent his long and adventurous life struggling and striving in the way of the Almighty was one of the wonders of our time.
During the bloody incident that took place some seventy years ago at the Goharshad Mosque in Mashhad he was the voice of the oppressed and those seeking truth and justice, and thus he became the target of the grudge and animosity of the oppressive Pahlavi regime. He also suffered all kinds of afflictions and torments under the yoke of another dictatorial regime for nearly 25 years.
Later, for many years in Egypt and Iraq, he informed Muslims about the oppression suffered by the Iranian people under the former despotic regime. And when he returned to Iran, he engaged in imparting religious guidance to the public for years without expecting any reward for his services.
During the years of the Sacred Defense, he filled the bright and pure hearts of our young combatants with motivation and vivacity through his sincere and enlightening words. He lived for one hundred years, and he spent some ninety years of his life serving the people and worshiping the Almighty.
The late Hojjatoleslam Bohlul's piety and virtue, dynamism and incessant efforts, bright and active mind, strong memory, simple food and clothing, modest conduct, bravery, eloquence, prominent moral characteristics and also his fasting all the time had made this sincere and faithful servant of Allah a unique personality.
This survivor of one adventurous century of struggle of the Iranian nation has now passed away, and I hope that he is favored with divine mercy and remission.
I express my condolences to the respected relatives, companions and friends of the deceased, and I pray for divine grace and blessings on his soul.
