The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei on January 5, 2006 issued a condolatory message on the demise of Dr Sa'eed Kazemi-Ashtiyani, a dedicated researcher and expert in the area of foetal stem cells. In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I received the news of the demise of dedicated scientist late Dr Sa'eed Kazemi-Ashtiyani with sorrow and sadness and regretted the loss of this precious personality, who was a source of inspiration and a pioneer in the field of innovation and initiative.
He was one of the pious children of the Islamic Revolution and one of the prominent scholars and researchers who promise a bright scientific future for our country.
The Rooyan Institute, which is a creditable assembly of innovators and committed researchers in the field of biological sciences, owes its establishment, progress and development to the strong determination, deep faith and perseverance of this young, diligent scientist.
I express my heartfelt condolences over the sad loss of this dedicated, productive scholar to his esteemed family and his honorable colleagues. I also pray to Almighty Allah to bestow remission and mercy on his soul and grant his bereaved family patience and fortitude.
