Leader Designates Acting Chief Commander of the IRGC

The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, in a decree issued on April 30, 2006 designated Brigadier General Morteza Rezaee as Acting Chief Commander of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC). The text of the Leader's decree is as follows:...

 

In the Name of Allah, the beneficent, the Merciful
Brigadier General Morteza Rezaee,
Considering that you have been recommended by the Chief Commander of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and in view of your bright record of military service and the valuable experience that you have obtained in various commanding positions and intelligence responsibilities, I hereby appoint you Acting Chief Commander of the IRGC.
You are expected, in the performing of this momentous responsibility, to make every effort to accomplish defined tasks and assignments in harmony and accord with other IRGC commanders and officials and assist the Chief Commander of the IRGC in handling various military affairs.
I express my appreciation and gratitude for the sincere efforts that were made by Brigadier General Zolqadr while he was holding this position.
I pray to Almighty Allah for your increased success in performing your responsibilities.
