Leader Meets with Hajj Officials

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Tuesday morning with officials in charge of this year's hajj. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence stated that planning for increasing the efficiency of Hajj by adopting an innovative outlook towards the spiritual and intellectual needs of hajj pilgrims and confronting falsehoods and the propaganda of the enemies of Islam is an absolute necessity.

He reiterated: "Building a wall between the Islamic Republic and the rest of the world of Islam is one of the methods of the enemies of the unity of Islamic Ummah. The opportunity of hajj - as a gathering place for the Islamic Ummah - should be utilized in the best way possible for destroying this wall and for changing wrong notions which have emerged as a result of the false propaganda of the enemies."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described Islamic unity as the real of need of the world of Islam in the present time, adding: "Unity and brotherhood among Muslims is one of our religious principles and the Islamic Republic has no considerations for anyone in this regard."

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that Islamic unity does not mean abandoning one's beliefs and one's denomination, saying: "Islamic unity, which is the main slogan of the Islamic Republic, means that Muslims should not show enmity to one another and that they should support one another on important global issues."

His Eminence highlighted Imam's (r.a.) innovation in turning the slogan of Islamic unity into the official and open policy of the Islamic Republic and described the method of the enemies of Islamic unity for violating this clear policy as an effort to build a wall between Iran and the world of Islam, further stressing: "Everyone is responsible for destroying this fake wall and hajj - as a gathering place for the Islamic Ummah - is the best opportunity for doing this."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to the falsehoods and propaganda efforts of the enemy with the purpose of creating illusions and promoting wrong notions about Shia, the Islamic Republic and Iran, describing it as one of the methods for separating the Islamic Republic from the world of Islam. He said: "Writing books in response to these falsehoods is not enough. Rather, we should see how we can change - by using various communicative methods - those minds which have been shaped with false propaganda and slander."
