Leader Attends Demise Ceremony for Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani

 Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, attended the demise ceremony for Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani - head of Assembly of Experts - in Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah this afternoon.

The ceremony was attended by the family and students of Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani, the heads of the three branches of government, ulama and seminarians, military and government officials and people from different social backgrounds.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hujjat-ul-Islam-wal-Muslemin Alam-ul Hoda referred to the power, decisiveness, positions and moral attributes of Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani, saying: "Events and incidents could never undermine his steadfastness. He stood firm in different arenas of the Revolution. He firmly defended the Revolution and Wilayat.

Alam-ul Hoda stated that careful piety, complete purity and resistance against temptations were the three main characteristics of Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani, further stressing: "Since the time of revolutionary activities and imprisonment by the taghut regime until the time of his election as the prime minister and various other governmental positions, he viewed events and opportunities as an obligation and an arena for rendering services. Throughout the Revolution, he was trusted by Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as a loyal and self-sacrificing friend."
