Leader’s Message of Condolence on the Demise of Hojjatoleslam Ferdowsipoor

The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei on February 17, 2007 issued a message of condolence on the demise of dedicated and pious clergyman Hojjatoleslam Hajji Sheikh Esma'il Ferdowsipoor. In his message, the Leader condoled with the honorable residents of Khorasan Province and the esteemed family and friends and associates of the deceased. The text of the Leader's message is as follows: ...
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I express my condolence over the sad demise of dedicated and pious clergyman the late Hojjatoleslam Hajji Sheikh Esma'il Ferdowsipoor to the esteemed family and friends and associates of the deceased, especially the honorable residents of Khorasan Province and in particular the faithful residents of the city of Ferdows.
This venerable scholar spent most of his life in working for Islam and serving the Islamic Republic system. His sincere companionship of the late magnanimous Imam Khomeini in the city of Najaf during the time that he was away from his homeland and in the period afterwards, his judicial services in the city of Mashhad and his serving as a representative in the Experts Assembly and also in the Islamic Consultative Assembly are some of the glorious pages of his life. He also suffered a physical disability in the Tir-7 tragic incident, and this further added to and highlighted his many virtues.
I pray to Almighty Allah to bestow mercy and remission on his soul and confer patience and fortitude on his progeny and esteemed family.
Sayyid Ali Khamenei
