The following is the full text of the message issued on December 27, 2013 by Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, on the demise of Sayyid Ali Akbar Parvaresh (may God bestow paradise on him).
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I received the news of the demise of Mr. Sayyid Ali Akbar Parvaresh - a sincere friend of the Revolution - with great sadness and regret. He was an honorable and influential personality who spent most of his blessed life rendering services to Islam and the lofty values of religion. His sincere words, pure heart and virtuous behavior were utilized at the service of promoting and strengthening the Revolution and the Islamic Republic.
He created a close bond between his revolutionary activities during the time of taghut with his valuable services and heavy responsibilities in the executive and legislative branches and in the Council of Defense during the time of the Islamic Republic.
He rendered services to his country and his people with all his power and he sacrificed his health and welfare for carrying out his responsibilities. His serious and chronic illness was his last difficult test, one that he endured with patience and equanimity.
He lived a pure and dignified life.
I would like to express my condolences to his honorable family and to all of his friends and supporters. I ask God to bestow paradise and His mercy on him.
