Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met today with Abdullah Wade, the President of Senegal. Speaking at the meeting, which was also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Ayatollah Khamenei described unanimity among Muslim countries as one of Iran's international goals and aspirations. He expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of industrial, commercial, and economic ties between the two countries, further adding: "Iran is ready to share its experience and achievements with other Muslim countries."
Referring to the fact that Senegal is the head of the Organization of Islamic Conference, His Eminence said: "The goal of this organization is to follow up the Palestinian issue. Therefore, the Organization of Islamic Conference has an important duty, and it can play an important role in the issue of Palestine. Today the oppressed people of Palestine are really in need of a strong, appropriate, and organized movement in the world of Islam."
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the support of the arrogant powers and some Islamic countries for the Zionist regime and reiterated: "Muslim nations wish to help Palestine, and the Organization of Islamic Conference should create hope in the hearts of the oppressed people of Palestine by supporting them."
Abdullah Wade expressed his satisfaction over bilateral ties between Iran and Senegal and added: "Iran enjoys a special position in the world of Islam. Undoubtedly, Iran's experience will be valuable and useful for the Organization of Islamic Conference and the world of Islam."
The Senegalese President also expressed his satisfaction with Iran's impressive June 12 presidential election and its results.
