Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution led Eid ul-Fitr prayers held this morning in Tehran. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence slammed domestic media for leveling allegations against different individuals.
Ayatollah Khamenei congratulated the Iranian nation and the Islamic Ummah on Eid ul-Fitr and described the month of Ramadan as an opportunity for curing spiritual maladies. His Eminence advised the people to maintain piety and preserve the valuable achievements they have made in the month of Ramadan.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution expressed his gratitude to the Iranian nation for its impressive presence in the Quds Day rallies and stated that Quds Day is an occasion when the camp of justice is deployed against the camp of injustice and oppression.
"The enemies of this nation made more efforts this year than ever before to undermine Quds Day. But through its praiseworthy show of determination, vigilance, and resistance in Tehran and across the country, the great and honorable Iranian nation showed that it will loudly express its wishes and positions in critical periods," he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei described Quds Day as the manifestation of the true nature of the nation and added: "Indicating the direction of the Revolution and the Islamic Republic, once again the people proved to the world that western politicians and government officials are chasing a mirage in their anti-Iranian efforts and that their machinations will not affect the spirit of this great nation."
Ayatollah Khamenei also described Quds Day as an opportunity for the Islamic Ummah to oppose "the cancer of Zionism". He touched on the participation of Muslims from different parts of the world in the Quds Day rallies and reiterated: "The international message of this glorious participation is that the movement of the great Iranian nation has spread to the world of Islam and that like the Iranian nation, the Islamic Ummah will not give in to oppression even if the oppressors enjoy the support of the most powerful governments in the world."
Elsewhere in his speech, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that morality, kindness, and brotherhood are the urgent needs of society. He slammed domestic newspapers and media for promoting slandering and suspicion in society. He further added that spreading allegations and rumors will make social life gloomy.
Ayatollah Khamenei further referred to the televised trials and said that the confessions which are made by the suspects in court and in front of TV cameras are valid both logically and according to Islamic sharia. He added: "But the statements which are made against other people are not valid according to Islamic sharia. And an atmosphere of suspicion and accusation should not be created in the country through such confessions."
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the executive and judicial organizations of the country to prosecute and punish the culprits and said: "Firm action has to be taken in this regard on the basis of the law."
He added: "Punishing the culprits is not the same as leveling accusations against individuals on the basis of suppositions and spreading those accusations in society."
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the negative perspective of foreign media on Iran's affairs and said that the claims made by these media should not be repeated or broadcast on TV. His Eminence said that this will muddy the issues instead of clarifying them.
Ayatollah Khamenei further urged the officials to present clear reports about their performance to the people and said: "The true meaning of clarification is to present reports to the people about the performance of the officials. And no one should talk about issues which have not been proven and put other people under the pressure of accusations."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also touched on the issue of spreading rumors and accusations and said that leveling accusations against the establishment is a sin which is much more serious than leveling accusations against individuals. He further reiterated that no one should level accusations against the whole establishment and said that such accusations are beneath the dignity of the system.
His Eminence urged the three government branches and the officials to cooperate more and increase their unity and stated that Iran needs to make progress on various fronts in the fourth decade of the Revolution in order to make up for its backwardness.
