Jihad in Islam actually means helping nations that are being kept behind the curtain of the policies of colonizing, arrogant, despotic powers. … “Why should you not fight in the way of Allah and the oppressed men, women, and children …” (Quran 4:75). [The Quran asks,] “Why don’t you fight for the cause of God?” Then immediately [it says,] “… for the oppressed, to save the oppressed?” This means having a feeling of responsibility. That is, you go and put your life in danger to save the oppressed. This is one of the things that Islam tells us.
