Islam has special emphasis on protecting trees

Plants and trees are a blessing for every country, for every human community; therefore, in the holy Sharia of Islam and in our hadiths, there are recommendations on preserving trees, and preventing the cutting of trees. Well, it is an Islamic recommendation. Today, all the people of the world are paying attention to this issue, and it may be said that people and communities have always been concerned about preserving trees. But the complaint I have-- addressed to all the authorities working in the area of jungles and trees preservation--is that we are planting trees one by one here, but hundreds or thousands of trees are cut off in places where they should not be cut off. This is a big problem. Villages and green spaces around big cities were wrongfully and forcefully given to some people who wanted to use the land for their own interests and they still continue to use the lands for their own interests. Hence, green spaces turned into cement and iron, and buildings-- which is a disaster for the cities. The country's forests have also been under serious threat that should be solemnly prevented.

The U.S. raised the flag of human rights yet inflict the most serious harm on human rights

They claim that they are committed to human rights. The Americans have raised the flag of human rights. They say, "We are committed to human rights not only in our country, America, but also in the entire world." Well, this is a claim. What have they done in practice? In practice, they inflict the most serious harm on human rights and they hurl the biggest insult at human rights in different countries. Their secret prisons throughout the world, such as their prisons in Guantanamo, in Iraq, in Abu Ghraib and their attack on civilians in Afghanistan, Pakistan and in different areas are examples of the Americans' claim to support human rights. Based on the news that is reported every day from Afghanistan and Pakistan, their drones both spy for them and pressure the people. Of course, as an American journal said a few days ago, these drones will be a source of trouble for them in the future.

Western democracy, from claims to action

They say that they are committed to establishment of democracy in the world - I do not want to speak about the kind of democracy America itself has. Under this claim, they constantly confront the Islamic Republic which has the most genuine democracy in the region. This is while they shamelessly support countries in the region which do not know the first thing about democracy and in which the people have not seen ballot boxes even once. Imam Hussein (as) and his followers endured agonizing pain and suffering during Ashura

The pain and suffering which Imam Hussein (a.s.) and his followers endured on the day of Ashura were too agonizing and the harm which was inflicted was very serious. The life of Hussein ibn Ali (a.s.) is more valuable than everything in the world. The pure and sacred lives of those followers of Imam Hussein (a.s.), the lives of those youth and those members of Imam Hussein's (a.s.) household are not comparable to the life of other people. Their bodies were covered in blood and dirt. They made sacrifices and they laid down their lives. The households of the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) and Imam Ali (a.s.) were imprisoned. Those events are very tragic and very difficult to tolerate. But what was achieved on the day of Ashura was so great and glorious that it made it easy for Imam Hussein (a.s.), his followers and his household to endure the sufferings. This has been narrated by prominent figures.
