For the occasion, the official website has published statements Ayatollah Khamenei made during a speech, then President of Iran, on May 28, 1987. In his speech, the Leader of the Revolution elaborates on parts of a supplication from Sahifa Sajjadiya of Imam Sajjad (pbuh) called "Farewell to the Month of Ramadan".

   On Saturday, July 2nd, over a thousand students, including representatives from various student organizations, had a friendly and open discussion with Ayatollah Khamenei. The 5-hour meeting comprised of student concerns regarding academic, cultural, social, political and economic issues among the new generation. The Leader of the Revolution delivered a speech on academic and student affairs, most importantly student involvement in the process of national resistance, as well as various current issues.
