Speaking at the ceremony, Ayatollah Khamenei the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces described the Islamic Republic's Armed Forced as the strong arms of the nation and added: "Our people support the Armed Forces and consider them as an integral part of the nation."
Ayatollah Khamenei also said the Armed Forces play an important role in maintaining our national grandeur and reiterated: "Such grandeur gains even more significance when the Armed Forces are equipped with the power of faith and spirituality besides their military power. The Iranian nation currently enjoys great grandeur in the world thanks to the power of its Armed Forces and its brave and faithful youth."
His Eminence further added: "The grandeur of the Islamic Republic's Armed Forces does not lie in their military power only. Rather, it is manifested by their moral power, faith, and efforts to defend monotheism and human values as well."
Ayatollah Khamenei also said the superpowers use their military power as a means for bullying and satisfying their expansionist motives, but the Iranian Armed Forces lay down their lives to defend Islamic Values. "Their efforts are aimed at upholding divine and human values and they will achieve ultimate victory on this front," he noted.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces further referred to the victories of the brave youth of Hezbollah against the heavily armed Zionist army and stated: "That was a spiritual victory over materialistic powers. The dear youth who serve in the Basij and the Armed Forces should appreciate the special privilege which they enjoy due to their faith and spirituality."
Ayatollah Khamenei also touched upon the bravery, faith, determination, and devotion of the Iranian nation against the enemies and said: "The enemies of the Islamic Republic could not conceive of the powerful resistance of the Iranian nation during the early stages of the Islamic Revolution. However, they now admit to the strong position of the Iranian nation and its Armed Forces in the world due to their experience in the last thirty years."
Ayatollah Khamenei also advised the Armed Forces to promote moral values and maintain their constant vigilance against the enemies.
