Palestine became top issue in Islamic world due to Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution

The following is the full text of the speech delivered by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khamenei, on June 4, 2023 on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s demise.

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our Master, Prophet Muhammad, and upon his pure, chosen, guide-of-the-guided, infallible, magnanimous progeny — particularly the Vestige of God remaining on earth.

Peace be upon the pure soul of our magnanimous Imam! Imam Khomeini was the flagbearer of divine missions in an age of militant ignorance in recent centuries.

This magnificent and blessed ceremony has been held for over thirty years now. The topic of discussion during this ceremony in all these years has mainly revolved around our magnanimous Imam. The conversations that have occupied most of the time of this meeting have been about our honorable and dear Imam.

In my opinion, the new generations of this country need to know more about the honorable Imam. The same applies to us older people, we all need to become more familiar with the dimensions of this multidimensional and magnificent personality. This will help us in our progress and in the continuation of our journey. Today, I will share some points about the magnanimous Imam. I will also speak about ourselves and the lessons we need to learn and about what needs to be done.

As for Imam Khomeini, the first point to note is that not only is Imam Khomeini the outstanding figure of our time, he is also one of the outstanding figures of our [Iran’s] history. Outstanding figures are those who possess greatness in any fields, in any part of the knowledgeable and practical fields. Among the notables and distinguished figures, some are better than others. We describe them as “outstanding figures.” There are outstanding figures in every age, but some are not specific to their time, [rather] they are outstanding figures of history.

Outstanding figures cannot be erased from the memory of history. This is the important thing that we need to note. Outstanding figures cannot be erased, nor can they be distorted. This is not to say that the propaganda of the opposition will not be capable of misrepresenting the face of outstanding figures, it can. The propaganda media which are becoming more modern, updated, and better equipped every day can introduce night as day and day as night. They can also spread lies about prominent, enlightening figures. But this is the foam on top of the water. “As for the foam, it bursts and disappears” (Quran 13:17). The sun does not remain behind the clouds forever. After the passing of a thousand years since the time of Ibn Sina [Avicenna] and Sheikh Tusi, these figures introduce themselves [to us] with a clear voice today. Their personalities cannot be erased; they cannot be wiped from historical memories; they cannot be distorted. The dimensions of Imam Khomeini’s character are broader and more varied than those of Ibn Sina and Sheikh Tusi. The characteristics that were involved in the formation of Imam’s personality were far greater than the features that existed in the personality of such prominent, outstanding figures. 

Imam Khomeini is an all-round outstanding figure. He excels in religious sciences — including jurisprudence, philosophy, and theoretical Islamic mysticism (irfan) — he excels in faith, piety, and pious behaviors. He has great strength of character and willpower, he excels in rising for the cause of Allah and revolutionary politics and creating transformation in the human system. The collection of these dimensions is not seen in any of the outstanding figures in Iranian history, but they can be seen in the magnanimous Imam. Nobody will be able to remove him from history's memory, neither now nor in the future. No one will be able to distort his character. It might be possible to spread lies and distort his character for a short while, but, eventually, the luminous face of Imam will introduce itself to everyone with a resounding voice. You cannot keep this sun behind the clouds. This is the first point.

Our magnanimous Imam took three magnificent, substantial, historic actions. He brought about three major transformations — one in Iran, one throughout the Islamic Ummah, and one at the global level. These three transformations are unprecedented. One cannot foresee whether or not something like this will ever happen again in the future.

The transformation at the country level was to create the Islamic Revolution in this country. The people conducted the Revolution, but Imam Khomeini created it. This Revolution broke a monarchical political structure, replacing it with a democracy. This Revolution removed a humiliated system of governance that served as a puppet of world powers, replacing it with an independent system that relied on national honor. This system of governance took an anti-Islamic government out of the picture and established an Islamic government in its place. This Revolution replaced tyranny with freedom. It replaced the ever-increasing lack of identity of this nation with national identity and self-confidence. This Revolution has equipped a nation that had its eyes fixed on the hands of foreigners with the power of “We Can.” These are the miracles of this great Revolution, this is the great transformation that the magnanimous Imam brought about at the country level.

As for the transformation that occurred at the level of the Islamic Ummah — the transformation at the level of the Ummah — the movement of Islamic Awakening was created by Imam Khomeini. The period of passivity and inactivity in the Islamic world moved toward weakness and destruction, with Imam’s movement. Today, the Islamic Ummah is more dynamic, active, prepared, and livelier than the period before the victory of the Islamic Revolution and the era that existed before Imam Khomeini. However, there is still more work that needs to be done in this field.

After the Zionists and their supporters supposed that the issue of Palestine was finished and that there was no need to talk about Palestine anymore, the issue of Palestine became the top issue in the Islamic world with the action that Imam took and the transformation that he created in the Islamic Ummah. Today, the issue of Palestine is considered as the first and foremost issue of the Islamic world. Today, Palestine is the center of attention of Muslim nations. The resounding voice of Palestinian leaders standing at the top [roof] of the Zionist embassy in Tehran, shook the world at the beginning of the Revolution. Everyone knew that a new era had begun in Palestine. It breathed new life into the depressed body of the Palestinian nation and today you see that the Palestinian nation is proving its presence with strength and power. It makes its voice heard around the world. On Quds Day, not only do people show their support for the Palestinians in Iran or Tehran, but those who live in the capitals of the non-Muslim world also display their support for the Palestinian people. This is the transformation that has occurred at the level of the Ummah.

The third transformation occurred at the global level. Imam Khomeini revived an atmosphere of spirituality and spiritual attention in the world, even in non-Muslim countries. Spirituality had disappeared, [as a result of] being stomped on by materialistic and anti-spiritual policies. The reaction of people toward the aggressiveness of Zionist and arrogant institutions that promoted materialism was passive in nature. Spirituality had been forgotten. Imam Khomeini’s movement once again revived spirituality across the world. Of course, this was met with a strong reaction from those same centers of power. Today, they’re attacking spirituality with their own special methods at the global level wherever they can with an even greater incentive. Some of their methods are so disgraceful that one feels ashamed to even mention them! This was the second point about Imam Khomeini. So, the first point was that Imam Khomeini cannot be erased from the memory of history. He is alive. His cries, his articulate words, are inextinguishable. The second point is that Imam Khomeini brought about these three great transformations with the important and outstanding character that he had.

The next point is important. We ask ourselves which hardware or software did Imam use to support and help him with these great tasks? What was the factor that was able to help the Imam and lead Imam in this field so that he would not feel tired and have the ability to do these great things and remove these large mountains of obstacles? Imam Khomeini did not have any hardware elements that could aid him. He had no money. He had no propaganda tools. He did not have any radio stations, nor did he have a news agency and none of the world’s politics supported or helped him. The only hardware that Imam Khomeini had was a piece of paper on which he could write his statements and audio tapes that recorded his voice so that people could hear it. He did not have any hardware elements that could help him. Software elements were the only things that helped Imam. What were these software elements? This is important.

This software factor can be expressed in different ways. I have chosen two titles, two interpretations of this factor that assisted the Imam which I will share with you. Those two factors are “faith” and “hope.” The thing that led Imam on this path, enabling him to bring about these great changes at the country level, at the level of the Ummah, and at the global level for the length of history was his faith and his hope. Faith and hope.

Martyr Motahari (ra) had a meeting with Imam Khomeini in Paris — martyr Motahari himself was a mountain of faith — he used to express his wonder and amazement at the faith that Imam had. After returning from Paris he said, “I saw four kinds of faith in Imam Khomeini:  one was that he had faith in his goal.” His goal was Islam. Imam Khomeini’s purpose was Islam. “Second, he had faith in the path that he had chosen.” Imam Khomeini’s path was the path of struggle. The third kind of faith was “The faith he had in the people, in the believers;” that is, the same thing that Almighty God says about the Prophet (pbuh): “He has faith in Allah and he has faith in the believers” (Quran 9:61). Which I will say a few words about this later. The fourth kind of faith, which was higher than the rest, [it] was his “Faith in Rabb [the Lord]” — his faith in God, the trust he had in God. I will briefly explain this fourth kind of faith, his faith in God.

When we raise the issue of having faith in God in objective matters, [for example] on the issue of fighting Arrogant Powers, it has a special meaning. Having faith in God in this place means having faith in God’s promises. Almighty God has made promises in the Quran which are inviolable. He has promised that “If you help Allah, He will help you and make your steps firm” (47:7). He has promised, “Allah will surely help those who help Him” (22:40). He has promised that “Allah will indeed defend those who have faith” (22:38). He has promised, “And that which profits the people remains on the earth” (13:17). If you help God, He will make you steadfast and He will help you.

That which is to the benefit of people is permanent and everlasting. The foam on the water is temporary. Injustice and falsehood are the foams on the water and the truth — the reality of Islam — consists of what will remain. These are God’s promises. “Indeed, Allah does not break His promise” (Quran 3:9). This is the meaning of having faith in God which martyr Motahari has quoted from the words of Imam Khomeini. It means that he has faith in God’s promises. He believes in it. Now compare this to someone who sets foot on a path and says, “let’s go see what happens!” The trust that Imam Khomeini had in God’s promise was what set his firm steps in motion on this path.

Having faith in Islam is one of the four faiths that have been narrated by Imam Khomeini. Imam (ra) has talked about this Islam in his speeches on numerous occasions. This Islam is neither the Islam of capitalism nor is it the eclectic Islam of uninformed individuals.

In comprehending Islam and explaining it, Imam Khomeini does not accept the weak, so-called “intellectual” opinions — opinions that do not agree with Islamic laws and Islamic jurisprudence, yet claim to believe in Islam! Imam Khomeini strongly rejects these. Nor does he agree with the Islam that archaic individuals believe in where they do not have the ability to understand, accept and believe in any new inferences that are extracted from Islamic texts. Imam does not agree with any of these beliefs. Imam believed in the Islam of the Book [the Holy Quran] and the Sunnah [Tradition of the Prophet and his Pure Progeny] along with well-founded jurisprudential reasoning and proper comprehension. This is the Islam that Imam Khomeini believed in. He did not believe in the Islam of archaic individuals who might mention the name of Islam, they might whisper the lessons of Islam, yet they might not accept the Islam that has rules related to social life, to government and politics, [and] which promote irresponsibility in political and social affairs. That’s about Islam [in Imam’s view].

[The topic of] faith in the people — “He has faith in Allah and he has faith in the believers” (Quran 9:61). Some might interpret this verse in a different manner.  The correct meaning of “yuminu lilmumineen” is the same as “yuminu bilmumineen.” “Faith” in the usages of the Holy Quran is transitive with [the letter] laam. For example, “Thereupon Lot believed in him” (Quran 29:26). “Yuminu lilmuminin" means trusting people, believing in people. During these years, certain individuals repeatedly expressed their concerns to the Imam, telling him that the people might give up and they might not be able to continue this difficult and strenuous path along with the Imam’s steps. Imam would say, “no, I know these people more than you and better than you.” And he was right. He knew that if people realized that this was God's path, they would endure all the problems that they would face on the path.

The families that gave martyrs verified Imam Khomeini’s insight. Over the years, devoted young people confirmed Imam’s opinion. The great gatherings of the Iranian nation that took part in commemorating religious and revolutionary occasions also confirmed this opinion of the Imam. Imam Khomeini trusted the people. He trusted their actions, their motives, and their votes. The Islamic Republic, this democracy that exists in the Islamic Republic, the word “republic,” was the result of the honorable Imam's trust in the people. Some people, with their own misconceptions, misunderstood this move by Imam Khomeini. They expressed it in a different way, they made it seem as though Imam had used the word “republic” out of obligation! Imam was not the type to be obliged. He was not the type to say things for the sake of pleasing others. It was what he believed in and therefore he spoke about democracy. [For example] at the end of his life, Imam made clear that he had not voted for that first president [Abdolhasan Banisadr].

They said that he had voted [for him], [but] Imam made it clear that “I did not vote for such and such a person,” But [at the same time of Banisadr’s election] Imam inaugurated the same president whom he had not approved of and had not voted for! Why? Because people had voted for him. He gave credit to the people's vote. This was Imam Khomeini’s basic line of thought. In short, this was Imam's faith with its different dimensions.

As for Imam Khomeini’s “hope,” hope was a permanent element in Imam’s heart. It was the driving force of our magnanimous Imam. This hope can clearly be seen in his behavior and in his words. In that famous text (Sahifeh-ye Imam, vol. 1, p. 3) which he wrote in the 1320s [1940s], Imam speaks about rising for the cause of Allah. He wrote the verse, “… that you rise up for the sake of Allah, in pairs or individually …” (Quran 34:46). That piece of writing in Imam’s own handwriting is currently being kept in the late Vaziri’s library in Yazd, and was written in the 1320s. In the 1340s [1960s], he practically carried out this uprising himself and entered the arena of the uprising. In the 1360s [1980s], he refused to bow amid those horrible military, security, and political storms. From the 1320s, to the 1340s, to the 1360s, this endless stream of hope, this bubbling fountainhead of hope in Imam's heart, made all these impacts.

In a statement that was recorded and then published in his writings, the venerable Imam himself said, “I never despaired during the years of struggle until the victory and I believe that when the nation wants something, it will surely achieve it.” This hope that the Imam had stemmed from his faith. When you have a clear faith in the true source and in Almighty God, this flame of hope will turn on in your heart. It will not be extinguished. Hope and faith affect each other. Faith creates hope. Attaining hope increases a person’s faith. They affect each other.

Of course, when we speak about hope, it should not be mistaken with unrealistic ideas and imaginings. Hope is a state that is accompanied by movement. It does not come with laziness and idleness. A person who has hope in reaching a goal, makes a move. Someone who sits around and just hopes to reach a goal cannot do so. In hadiths and prayers, this kind of deception is mentioned as “iqtirar bi-llah” which is condemned. It is a state when a person hopes to reach a goal, without making a move or effort. Effort is necessary — Imam had this hope and he made an effort.

Up until now, what I spoke to you about were the three fundamental points about Imam Khomeini. Now we are left to learn lessons from him. What would Imam’s recommendation be to us today? My dear brothers, my dear sisters, the great nation of Iran, cheerful and hardworking youth across the country! You should listen to Imam's advice. Imam is great, he is outstanding, he is alive. He has things to tell us; he talks to us. We have a long road ahead of us. We have great tasks ahead of us. Thus, we are in need of Imam’s advice.

What would Imam advise us to do? Surely, Imam’s greatest advice would be to continue his path and to look after his heritage, this is his greatest advice to us. We must pursue, follow, and preserve the same three transformations that Imam created inside the country, at the level of the Ummah, and at the global level. Of course, pursuing this goal today has requirements that are different from the requirements of Imam's time, I am aware of this. Surely, in the age of artificial intelligence, quantum [technology], the internet and the likes of these scientific advancements, it’s not possible to work with the same methods and tools that were used 40 years ago, such as ordinary telephones and audio recorders.

In order to advance this goal today, the tools that are used must be chosen according to the present age, there is no doubt about this. The tools change, but what doesn’t change are the fronts. The fronts have not changed. They will not change. The goals will not change. The fronts will not change. Today, like yesterday, the enemy’s front, the front of Arrogance, the front of coercion, the front of the Zionists, and the front of oppressive and aggressive powers are lined up in formation in front of the Iranian nation. Of course, the difference between the current frontline formation and the one in the past is that the Iranian nation has become stronger now, while the enemy has become weaker. But the fronts are the same.

The thing that can appear like a dangerous chasm before us is our forgetfulness about this enmity and these fronts. Whenever we have forgotten about it, we have suffered damages. Today, the Iranian nation needs the transformations that Imam created, it needs to follow them. Its life, its power, its honor, its good, all depend on following the Imam’s transformations. These transformations have stubborn, spiteful enemies.

All over the world, those who think of transgressing other nations and countries transgresses any country they can. They build a base in that country, take its oil, and massacre the people there. They commit whatever crime they want, wherever they want. Such things are taking place. If the Iranian nation wishes to take action against these movements, what will it need? Let me tell you: it needs the same software that Imam had in himself and that he enjoined on the people. It needs faith and hope.

Our youth, especially, need to keep this in mind that the enmity of global Arrogance with the Iranian nation will not disappear because of certain case-specific retreats. Some people are mistaken, they imagine that if we back down on a certain issue, it will lessen the hostility of the US, of global Arrogance or the hostility of the Zionists toward us. No, this is a mistake. In many cases, our retreats caused them to move forward and became even more aggressive.

During the last few decades, in some administrations, there were individuals who believed in retreating and giving concessions to the other party. In one of these administrations, the same countries that we had retreated from before, summoned our president to court in absentia. They issued an indictment in court for the Iranian president [Aliakbar Hashemi Rafsanjani]. Or in another administration [Khatami administration], which unfortunately seemed to have helped the US, Iran was labeled as the “Axis of Evil.” These retreats are not enough for them! What they want is to bring Iran back to the period before the Revolution. They want a dependent Iran, they want an Iran that has no identity, they want an Iran that has its eyes set on others. That is what they want. These retreats are not enough for them. Let’s not make a mistake.

This is what I want to tell the nation of Iran and our dear youth: whoever loves Iran, whoever wants the welfare of the country, whoever wants improvement in our economy, whoever is suffering from economic problems and livelihood issues and wishes to solve them, whoever wants a high and honorable status for Iran in the world’s upcoming order, whoever wants these things must strive to give faith and hope to the nation. This is a duty; it is a duty for all of us. This is all I have to say to the educated elite, to the revolutionary nuclei, to the political groups and organizations, and to all of our people. We must all strive to keep this faith and hope alive in the country.

My advice is to strengthen people’s faith and hope. The enemy's objective is this same faith and hope. The enemies’ extensive efforts — which I will now say in a few words — are aimed at destroying the faith and hope that resides in people. It wants to weaken the faith of the people and to extinguish the flames of hope in people’s hearts, especially the youth. My advice is to strengthen people’s faith and hope. The enemy is trying to destroy people’s faith and hope.

Maintaining national independence depends on faith and hope. Preservation of national dignity, preservation of national interests, depends on preserving faith and hope. All of these things have enemies. Protecting our national interests has spiteful and stubborn enemies, and they have done whatever they wanted up until today. In the past few decades, these spiteful and stubborn institutions, their security apparatuses, their political institutions, and their financial supporters did everything they could against the Iranian nation. In a few cases, they made progress, but in most cases — by the grace of God — they were overcome and defeated by the Iranian nation.

Everyone pay attention! The enemy’s last attempt — that is to say, their last attempt up until now, they will make more attempts in the future — was the riots that took place last fall. Pay attention. The riots that took place last fall were designed in Western think tanks, that is where the plans were made. The plans they made were quite extensive. They were designed in Western think tanks and Western security services provided them with financial, media, and weapons support. They supported it, both financially and through the provision of weapons. They also provided extensive media support.

Their errands here were run by a number of treasonous elements who had turned their backs on their country. Their errands were run by elements who betrayed their country. They left the country, went abroad, and became mercenaries and agents of the policies of Iran's enemies — not only the enemies of Islam and the Islamic Republic but the enemies of Iran!

There were also some foot soldiers inside the country. These foot soldiers consisted of a small number of mercenaries, a larger number of unaware, emotional, and superficial people, and another group were just thugs. These groups were the foot soldiers of these riots. This movement stretched from the enemies’ think tanks in Western countries to the thugs in the streets of Tehran and some other cities.

They had thought of everything. The radio and television stations of foreign countries recklessly taught people how to make hand-made explosives! They spread the slogan of dismembering Iran. They promoted armed actions in the streets with weapons that had been smuggled [into the country]. Their thugs tortured and martyred young seminary and Basiji students or policemen and Basiji members in the streets, right in front of the people.

Pay attention so that the greatness of the Iranian nation and the greatness of its motivations and faith will become clearer. This is how the thugs took action inside the country, that is how spiteful individuals chanted slogans. Abroad, some politicians who had top governmental positions took photographs with these same enemies. They thought it was all over. Their plans were designed in such a way that made them think the Islamic Republic’s days were coming to an end. They thought they could use the Iranian nation to achieve their goals. These idiots — once again — made a mistake and failed to comprehend the Iranian nation.

Of course, the Iranian nation ignored them. It ignored their invitations. Dedicated young people were able to do great things on the streets and in universities. The Student Basij, different Basij groups in different cities in the country, and dedicated, pious people fulfilled their duties and disappointed the enemy. The enemy's plan was foiled, but everyone was warned not to neglect the enemy's deception. Do not be neglectful of the enemy's deceit!

The enemy tries to create despair in the Iranian youth. Well, there are problems in the country. It continuously keeps reminding young people about these problems. There is a livelihood problem, there is a problem with the high costs of living, there is an inflation problem. These problems exist. The enemy tries to use these problems — which can be solved and, God willing, they will be overcome by God's grace and power — as a tool to extinguish the light of hope in the hearts of young people, while these are problems that can be solved. Our problems should not weaken people’s hope. If we see problems, we should become more motivated to find ways to overcome those problems. We need to help those who are standing up against these problems and those that are trying to solve them.

Of course, we have problems, but, in return, we have phenomena that are promising. I would like to tell our dear young people that the enemy does not want us to see these promising phenomena. The promising phenomena are far greater than our problems. We have made progress in the fields of science and technology, in the growth of industrial and agricultural infrastructure, in the creation of very important transportation structures, in workforce training, in bringing construction activities to Iran’s deprived and remote areas. We have made progress in international politics, in national honor, and we have also had developments in the country's military and defense power. These are promising facts that the enemy wants us to forget. It does not want the Iranian youth to know about them. These facts point to a brighter future.

When you speak about hope, some people try to ruin the hopefulness by mentioning these problems. If you speak about hope, they say you don’t know about the realities! How can someone be unaware of the realities? The realities that they talk about are the realities of our economic and livelihood issues. Everyone knows these things and everyone is suffering from them. There is no doubt about it.

Some people try to damage the hope in the hearts of our people by pointing out that there are people in different social levels who are not concerned with religion, faith, and the Revolution. Well yes, this is nothing new. Even in the 1360s [1980s] when our battlefields were filled with our religious youth, there were also some people in big cities like Tehran, who would walk about carelessly and in a carefree manner. Not only did they not feel responsible, but they mocked the country’s officials as well!

If you read the biographies of our martyrs and soldiers, you can see how devastated they felt because of this, especially in big cities. This phenomenon existed in the 1360s [1980s], in the first decade of the revolution, this is no surprise. Today, there are also people who have no commitment toward the Revolution, toward Islam, or toward the country; however, these do not make up the Iranian nation.

Even during the time of the Holy Prophet, there were people who loved martyrdom, who loved striving in the way of God, who would cry if they could not fight in the battlefields, but there were also people in Medina who were “steeped in hypocrisy” (Quran 9:101). The Quran says they were drenched in hypocrisy. In another verse, it says, “If the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the rumormongers in the city do not desist …” (33:60). Even in the Prophet’s own city, there were people who the Quran calls “rumormongers” — those who spread rumors, doubts, fears, and misgivings. All in the time of the Prophet! And that is a time when there was no internet, no social media, and no television. Today, when we have all these things, see what greatness the Iranian youth shows of him/herself.

Today, we have thousands of resistance cells in mosques and religious assemblies across the country. From these resistance cells, young people arise as the Defenders of the Holy Shrines [in Syria and Iraq], young people arise as defenders of security, young people arise as the Student Basij. The promising point amid the enemy’s all-out effort, in a situation where the enemy is fighting completely openly, is when a revolutionary student is sworn at with the filthiest profanity at university, yet refuses to back down. A seminary student is tortured and martyred because he refuses to utter the words that the enemy wants. 

People who do jihad selflessly, the Defenders of the Holy Shrines, those who actively strive in the jihad of clarification, the Faithful Help groups, and those in jihadi construction camps are all the youth of this country. Even with the internet, with social media, with all the stumbling blocks that exist, our youth are moving on this path. Sometimes, we see that a spiritual person, an enlightened, luminous individual arises from a small village, like Mostafa Sadrzadeh, a self-sacrificing luminous, young man who came from a village near [the town of] Shahriar.

We have plenty of people like Mostafa Sadrzadeh all across the country, we have thousands of them. These are all promising points. We all have a duty, the educated elite have a duty, the revolutionary nuclei have a duty, activists in universities and seminaries, those with a higher social status, especially those who can be heard by the people or whom people listen to, they all have a duty. Our duty is to strengthen people’s faith, we need to provide hope, we need to clarify misunderstandings and we need to foil the enemy’s methods of creating doubt and despair.

Let me tell you that one of their strategies is to cause the youth to become pessimistic toward the country’s officials, the country’s movement, the country’s political movement, the country’s economic movement, and to make people pessimistic toward one another. This is one of the enemy’s schemes. Fight against it! Another one of the enemy’s schemes is to make people pessimistic toward the elections, which I will hopefully speak about at the end of the year if I am alive then. For now, I just want to say this much that the upcoming elections are very important. The enemy has already activated its [propaganda] artillery to destroy it, even though we are at least nine months away from the elections. The Iranian nation, our dear youth, must increase this awakening, this awareness, this motivation, this faith, and this hope day by day so they can defeat the enemy.

O’ Lord! By Muhammad (pbuh) and the Household of Muhammad, grant this nation Your mercy, Your blessings, Your guidance, and make it victorious.

O’ Lord! Unite the pure soul of the magnanimous Imam with the Prophet (pbuh).

O’ Lord! Give us the honor to serve as the soldiers of Imam Mahdi (aj).

O’ Lord! Let Imam Mahdi’s holy heart be pleased with us. Let the Imam of the Age pray for us, especially for the youth.

O’ Lord! By Muhammad (pbuh) and the Household of Muhammad, solve the country’s problems with the determination and efforts of the country’s officials.
