On the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution attended a gathering arranged to promote familiarity with the Holy Quran. This gathering, which was held in Imam Khomeini Hussainiyya, was also attended by model qurra as well as instructors and memorizers of the Holy Quran.
In this gathering, which lasted for more than 3 hours, different groups of qurra recited verses of the Holy Quran.
Speaking at this meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei touched upon the need for holding such gatherings. "It is necessary that some gatherings be held among our people, who are deeply interested in the Holy Quran, so that they can listen to and benefit from the divine verses of the Holy Quran. These gatherings are necessary for further familiarity of their hearts and souls with the Holy Quran."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution advised the youth to reflect on the Quranic verses and to try to understand their meanings. "The education system must teach our children how to recite the Holy Quran at an early age so that its verses act as a route map showing them the straight path," he noted.
At the end of this meeting, the participants said their sunset and evening prayers led by the Leader. Afterwards, Ayatollah Khamenei and the participants broke their fast.
