Appointment of new Commander of Iran’s Air Force

Imam Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, issued a decree on September 19, 2021 appointing Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi as the new Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army Air Force. The following is the full text of this decree.

In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi,

Owing to your commitment and competence and also at the suggestion of the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army, I appoint you as the Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army Air Force.

What is expected is efforts to improve combat capabilities and preparedness to respond intelligently to air threats of any level and kind and also a growth in human resources with the aim of training air force scientists befitting the Islamic system in effective and synergistic cooperation with the large entity of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and related military and national units.

I thank Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh for his efforts and valuable services during the time that he was carrying out this responsibility.
