A letter from Ziyad al-Nakhalah, Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
“Remember when you were few, abased in the land, fearing lest people might carry you off by force, and He gave you refuge, and strengthened you with His help, and provided you with all the good things so that you may give thanks.”[1]
Praise be to God, the Lord of the Worlds. Praise God for commanding us to follow Islam. Our greetings to the Master of the Messengers, our Master and leader, Muhammad (pbuh) and peace be upon his Household and his followers until the Day of Resurrection.
To the blessed Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may God preserve his presence and blessings),
Salam Alaykum and may God’s mercy and blessings be upon you,
On behalf of my brothers, the commanders and the fighters of the Islamic Jihad Movement and Quds brigades, I congratulate you with honor and pride on the victory of the Palestinian nation and their honorable, brave resistance against the Zionist enemy and the arrogance and transgressions of this regime.
Your continuous, uninterrupted, clear support in all areas has played the greatest, most considerable role in the Sayf (Sword) of al-Quds Operation and its achievements. The Resistance fighters entered the battlefield with all their strength, bravery, and valiant efforts despite the military advantage of the enemy. The resistance and victory of the Palestinian nation would not have been possible without God’s help and approval. God’s help caused the meager facilities to become powerful and made those who feared that the enemy may remove them from the earth look great and powerful in the eyes of the enemy.
The Palestinian nation and Resistance inflicted a resounding defeat upon the enemy in a performance that pleased all the believers in the world and showed that the Zionist regime is frailer than a spider’s home. In this historical moment, I express my gratitude and appreciation to you and our brothers in the Quds Force for their having been with us step by step for these many years. They offered us all the capabilities, knowledge and help they possessed with their unique sincerity to create such a memorable, blessed day.
It is my duty to remember our dearest Martyr and popular Commander, Haj Qasem Soleimani, who achieved a great position and status with his martyrdom. We truly feel his absence in these historical moments.
The friends and brothers of Martyr Soleimani, particularly Haj Ismail Qa’ani and his colleagues, were always with us leading and commanding this fight every moment. Their presence was truly beneficial and full of blessings for us.
I pray God will protect you and continually allow us to benefit from your blessed presence. We also pray for the protection of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its brave soldiers.
