In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The women martyrs, disabled war veterans and former prisoners of war are a manifestation of one of the highest peaks of glory for the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic. The power of faith opened the path to great endeavors for Iranian women and it created amazing, unique scenes involving their courageous, self-sacrificing, creative presence in difficult arenas. Some of these glories include: holding enthusiastic demonstrations in the days of the Revolution, participating in the unforgettable Sacred Defense, being heroes in battle, allowing their sons and husbands to embrace danger in the field of battle, offering back-up support, being present in the fields of science, research and technology, shining brilliantly in the areas of literature and art, showing their talent in social, political and managerial areas, and finally, sacrificing themselves in the health services and rendering services to patients in the recent, very dangerous challenge [Coronavirus]. All these are signs of Iranian women’s spiritual growth, which has been achieved thanks to the Islamic government, Islamic teachings and Islamic values.
Undoubtedly, women martyrs, disabled war veterans and former prisoners of war – their number is estimated to be about 17,000 – stand at the peak of these glories. Despite the corrupt, decadent western culture which was imposed on women during the time of the sinister Pahlavi regime, Iranian women have been able to bring themselves closer to ideal Islamic dignity and purity. This is a great honor. All praise is due to God, the Lord of the Worlds.
