In a meeting with Hamas political leader Khaled Mashal and his accompanying delegation, Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution paid tribute to the firm resistance of the Palestinian nation, the resistance forces, and the Hamas government against the heavy pressures and the unprecedented crimes of the Zionist regime and the bullying powers and stressed: "By Allah's favor, the Zionists who were apparently invincible are now in the worst situation and are unable to deal with the shelterless yet patient and resistant Palestinian nation." His Eminence added: "God's greetings be upon the Palestinian nation who are firmly resisting against these unique and unprecedented crimes."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated that the only way to liberate Palestine was resistance along with faith and stated: "The stance of Hamas and its Prime Minister Mr. Ismail Haniya, who has been elected by the Palestinian people, are very brave and strong and this is a source of joy."
Ayatollah Khamenei also expressed his deep sympathy towards the current situation of the Palestinian people, especially the inhumane siege of Gaza Strip and the everyday killings of women, children, and shelterless people of this region. He added: "The scenes of such crimes are very painful and saddening, but the resistance of the innocent people of Palestine against the invading Zionist regime who enjoys all sorts of support as well as economic, military, political and propagandistic resources is a source of hope and a clear sign of the fulfillment of God's promises."
Also in this regard Ayatollah Khamenei added: "The issue of Palestine and the inability and failure of the Zionists and arrogant powers to overcome the Palestinian nation plus the everyday progress of the Iranian nation - which is beyond what they expected - despite all the pressures during the last 30 years is the clear manifestation of God's promise who says that He will aid your victory if you tread the path of religion and resist on this path."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also emphasized that resistance on the path of God has its own cost and stated: "Those who tread this path and tolerate all the difficulties will be honored and glorious before God, but those who opt for a path other than resistance will pay the price and will be shameful and disgraceful before God."
In this meeting, Hamas political leader Mr. Khaled Mashal gave an account of the latest situation of Palestine, especially the catastrophic situation of the Gaza Strip and stressed: "The Palestinian nation will continue its resistance despite all pressures and will not under any circumstances stop its jihad, resistance, and support for the democratic government of Hamas."
He also referred to the unique martyrdom-seeking spirit among the Palestinian youth and stated: "The firm determination of the people of Palestine, especially its youth, has caused an increase in the resistance power of the people of Palestine."
