Unity Is the Basic Necessity

 Speaking in a meeting with Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi, the President of the Union of the Comoros, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to unity as the main necessity for the world of Islam. Touching upon the invaluable potentialities of Muslim countries, he said: "Enjoying rich natural recourses, a strategic geographical position, vast territories, spirited and skilled population and manpower, the world of Islam can turn into a power, but the traditional superpowers of the world are opposed to this."

Speaking in a meeting with Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi, the President of the Union of the Comoros, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to unity as the main necessity for the world of Islam. Touching upon the invaluable potentialities of Muslim countries, he said: "Enjoying rich natural recourses, a strategic geographical position, vast territories, spirited and skilled population and manpower, the world of Islam can turn into a power, but the traditional superpowers of the world are opposed to this."

His Eminence referred to the recent advances of the Muslim countries in scientific and technological fields, especially the advances made by the Iranian nation and its obtaining nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, and added: "Although the enemies of the world of Islam know that our nuclear activities are peaceful, they say that they are opposed to it. That is because this movement on the part of the Iranian nation is prominent and progressive."

Ayatollah Khamenei also said that it is necessary for the Muslim countries to have a seat in the UN Security Council, further reiterating: "In spite of the fact that the world of Islam enjoys numerous potentialities, it is deprived of having enough power to defend itself. And the Muslim countries must take practical steps to achieve this power, and the must forget about the fictitious obstacles and their geographical, racial, religious disagreements."

His Eminence also touched upon the fact that the enemies are trying to foment schism among Muslims, especially by fanning the flames of disagreement between the Sunni and the Shia adding: "Unfortunately, some of the politicians, intellectuals, and ulama in the Muslim world have been entrapped in this plot, but they must all know that in order to become powerful, we must have unity as well as sincere and practical cooperation in the world of Islam."

The Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was also present in this meeting. Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi expressed his satisfaction over this meeting and asked for further cooperation between the two countries. "For its development, the Union of the Comoros is in need of the planning and views of Iranian experts." He said.
