The battlefield: A war of wills
Distortion is the enemy's weapon in today's war against the Iranian nation and the Islamic government. But, what kind of war is this? The viewpoint of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution regarding the current situation is, "We are engaged in an asymmetric war with Global Arrogance." [May 23, 2016] Victory or defeat in this war depends entirely on wills because, "In asymmetric wars, it is the wills that are fighting one another. Any will that dominates will be victorious." [May 23, 2016] In this conflict, "The goal is what is in your heart, in your mind, in your brain." [Aug. 6, 2012]
In fact, "The policy of the enemy in propaganda and the media as well as its most active programs, has revolved around making people and even our officials and statesmen lose their hope in the future. False news, biased analysis, the reversal of facts, the concealment of hopeful points, the magnification of small problems and belittling or denying great advantages, have constantly been the program of thousands of audio-visual and internet-based media of the enemies of the Iranian nation. And of course, their followers inside the country can be seen using freedoms to work at the service of the enemy." [Feb. 11, 2019]
The enemy's weapon: The media
In this important, critical battle, the enemy is "using the very dangerous weapon of the media, particularly the media that has recently emerged." [Oct 4, 2018] They work in this field, and "by creating false images, they try to divert the thoughts of the Iranian nation. They portray false images both about Iran and about themselves. They also create false images regarding conditions in the region." [Oct. 4, 2018]
Implanting the idea of "compromise" as the "solution to economic problems" is the central point of this distortion of facts, "They say that if we compromise with America, the problems of the country will be solved." [Nov. 2, 2016] The truth of the matter is that, "The enemy wants us to conclude that it is not to our benefit to stand up to the United States very much and resist very much." [Aug. 6, 2012]
The path to victory: The jihad of hope
It has been clearly shown that the enemy seeks to disappoint the people and make officials compromise by distorting the facts and misrepresenting them. Therefore, contrary to this, "You young people must be the forerunners in breaking this siege of propaganda. Cultivate the tree of hope in the future in yourself and others. Drive fear and disappointment away from yourself and others. This is the first and most fundamental Jihad you need to undertake." [Feb. 11, 2019]
It is necessary to present a correct, realistic image of Islamic Iran to the public without promoting despair and hopelessness. This is an image in which "great national capabilities and capacities" are presented next to "problems and gaps," and practical solutions are proposed, rather than showing everything to be at an impasse. The enemy has targeted "hope," and we must make the enemy "hopeless" in this war.
