The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, in a meeting with the President of Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade, called the language of the United States and other superpowers in the world the language of intimidation, further reiterating that if Islamic countries are united, such intimidation will never be effective.
Ayatollah Khamenei described the U.S war against Iraq and Afghanistan as the major cause for other nations` hatred towards the country and added: "Americans have realized today that military victory is not real victory, and that they [the Americans] are now, in every sense of the word, helpless in the region."
Expressing his delight over holding the upcoming meeting of the heads of the Organization of Islamic Conference in Senegal, the Leader further added: "The more powerfully and meaningfully the meeting is held, the more the Islamic community will benefit."
Referring to the siege of Gaza and the killings of innocent people in Palestine, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution described supporting the Palestinian nation as one of the important responsibilities of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and expressed hopes that the organization will be able to translate its responsibilities into action.
His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei also referred to the advances and the scientific achievements made by the Islamic countries and Iran in particular, adding: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, without the help of the United States or other global powers, has so far made several achievements and is willing to provide Islamic countries with these achievements."
The Leader also referred to the belief among some of the Islamic countries, that unless the U.S and other powers agree, nothing can be done, as a wrong belief and emphasized: "This kind of mentality is mistaken and false, and nations are well capable of carry out great jobs against the will of such powers if they are determined enough."
Also emphasizing the vast potentialities of the Organization of the Islamic Conference as well as the existence of the material and human resources in Islamic countries, Ayatollah Khamenei added: "The organization should further develop its political, economic, and cultural cooperation with its member countries and turn into a strong and influential organization on the global scene regardless of what the U.S and other global powers want."
His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei also expressed his delight over the agreement between the Iranian and the Senegalese Presidents to adhere to previously signed agreements, and emphasized the development of mutual relations between the two countries.
In this meeting, in which the Iranian President Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was also present, the Senegalese President Mr. Abdoulaye Wade, thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its efforts to support the staging of the next meeting of the heads of the Islamic Conference in Dakar, and further added: "This kind of cooperation is indicative of the cordial relations between the two countries, and Senegal has constantly set Iran as an example."
Also referring to the statements made by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei in the meeting, the President of Senegal reiterated that he would take the statements as a source of inspiration in carrying out responsibilities and taking measures. Stressing the need for further development of the relations between the two nations, the President of Senegal also added: "Iran and Senegal have excellent cooperation in different fields, especially in the field of constructing car plants and refineries as well as electricity-transfer lines."
