Ayatollah Khamenei said that the agreements made between Iran and Djibouti will pave the way for a stronger relationship between the two states.
"The expansion of Iran-Djibouti relations will benefit both sides. Iran and Djibouti can benefit from their strong ties in international organizations," he added.
In the meeting, also attended by President Mohammad Khatami, the Djiboutian president expressed his satisfaction with his visit to Iran and delivered the greetings of the Djiboutian people to the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He added that so far a number of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) have been signed between the two sides and called for the expansion of Tehran-Djibouti ties in all fields.
The Djiboutian president expressed hope for increased unity among Muslims, saying it would more clearly reveal Islam's power and magnificence to the world
