The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution—Ayatollah Khamenei—appointed Hujjatul-Islam-Wal-Muslimin Haj-Ali-Akbari as the temporary Friday prayers leader of Tehran.
Hujjatul-Islam-Wal-Muslimin Haj-Ali-Akbari—born in 1964—had previously been appointed by Ayatollah Khamenei as the chairman of Friday Prayers Leaders Policy Council in January 2018 and as the representative of Wali-Faqih in the Students Islamic Associations Union in May 1999.
Moreover, he took on the role of Friday prayers leader for the first time in the city of Damavand in 1994, at the age of thirty, and six years later, he was appointed as the youngest member of Friday Prayers Leaders Policy Council.
