Speaking at the meeting, the Leader called the Qom Theological School a precious asset and suggested that a comprehensive policy should be made concerning the activities of the school over the next two decades. He stressed that greater efforts should be made by the theological school to fulfill its objectives aimed at promoting Islam and raising the status of Muslims.
Ayatollah Khamenei also referred to the all-out campaign launched by the Western liberal democracy against Islam and the Islamic Republic of Iran. He said that the theological school in Qom could counteract the theoretical and conceptual aspects of this domination-seeking campaign by advancing its software movement in both scientific and theoretical spheres.
Ayatollah Khamenei further noted that those presenting ideas and theories for all dimensions of human life with the intention of dominating the world have targeted the Islamic Republic in intellectual, ideological, political, social and moral areas. He emphasized that the Islamic clergy and the theological school should play a more active role in countering this all-out aggression.
Elsewhere in his statements, Leader of the Islamic Republic said that the High Council of the Qom Theological School should focus more closely on policy-making. "The prospects for the next two decades should be delineated, and the long-term objectives of the theological school should be identified. Then, efforts should be made based on sound policies and appropriate plans to fulfill these goals," he pointed out.
In conclusion, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his gratitude for the efforts that have made to improve the activities of the theological school in the holy city of Qom both quantitatively and qualitatively.
