Today, the world of Islam is suffering from insecurity: moral, spiritual and political insecurity. The main factor behind this is our negligence and brutal invasion led by the enemies. We have not carried out our religious and our rational duties in the face of the vicious enemy’s invasion. We forgot to be both "Strong against unbelievers" and "Compassionate among each other" [The Holy Quran, 48: 29].
The result, of this, is that the Zionist enemy is provoking sedition in the heart of the world of Islam's geography while by ignoring the definite duty of saving Palestine, we are busy with domestic wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya and Bahrain and with confronting terrorism in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the like.
The heads of Islamic countries and political, religious, and cultural personalities among the world of Islam have heavy responsibilities on their shoulders: the responsibility of creating unity and preventing everyone from tribal and denominational conflicts; the responsibility of informing nations of the enemy's methods and the treachery of arrogance and Zionism; the responsibility of equipping everyone for the purpose of confronting the enemy in the various arenas of hard and soft wars; the responsibility of urgently preventing catastrophic incidents in Islamic countries--the bitter example of this today being the affairs in Yemen, which are a source of sorrow and protest; the responsibility of offering determined support for the oppressed Muslim minorities, such as Muslims in Myanmar and other minorities; and most importantly, the responsibility of defending Palestine and offering unconditional cooperation and assistance to a people who have been fighting for their usurped country for nearly 70 years.
These are important responsibilities which fall on our shoulders: nations should demand these from their governments; outstanding personalities should try to achieve them with firm determination and pure intentions. These tasks are the complete embodiment of helping God's religion, which will definitely be followed by divine assistance on the basis of God's promise.
These are the lessons of Hajj, and I hope that we can understand and act on them.
Muslims who have come together from different parts of the world - filled with enthusiasm of making tawaf and visiting the Holy Prophet's (s.w.a.) shrine - should make the best of this opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among themselves, which is the remedy for many great maladies of the Islamic Ummah. Today we can see clearly that the hand of the ill-wishers of the world of Islam is fomenting discord among Muslims more than ever before. This is while the Islamic Ummah needs solidarity and unanimity more than any other time.
Today the bloody clutches of the enemies are causing tragedies in different parts of the Islamic territories. Under the vicious domination of the Zionists, Palestinians are suffering from increasing pains and hardships. Masjid al-Aqsa is exposed to a serious threat. After that unprecedented genocide, the oppressed people of Gaza are still living in the most difficult conditions. Suffering under the boots of the occupiers, Afghanistan is faced with a new tragedy every day[...] The killing of our brothers in Yemen has inflicted a new pain on the Islamic Ummah.
Muslims should figure out where and how the recent fitnas, wars, explosions, assassinations, and indiscriminate killings in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan are being planned. Why did the regional nations not experience so many hardships and tragic events before the western armies- led by America- domineeringly entered this region as if they had proprietary rights to it? On the one hand, the occupiers label the resistance movements of the people of Palestine, Lebanon, and other countries of the world as terrorism. On the other hand, they mastermind and lead brutal sectarian and ethnic terrorism among the nations of this region.
Hajj, in this specified place, and in this time period, always and throughout years, calls the Muslims to solidarity and union through an articulate language and clear logic.
And this is the opposite of what the enemies of Islam aspire to do: inciting the Muslims to fight against each other at all times and, especially, during the present time. Look at the behaviour of the arrogant and criminal U.S. today. Its essential policy against Islam and the Muslims is warmongering. Its desire and vicious efforts aim at killing Muslims by other Muslims: causing some oppressive groups to attack some oppressed ones, supporting the front of the oppressors, suppressing the oppressed front through it, and always fueling this appalling conspiracy.
Muslims should be aware and nullify this satanic policy. Hajj prepares the grounds for this awareness, and this represents the philosophy of declaring repudiation to pagans and arrogant powers during Hajj.
