A large number of high-ranking and commanding officers of the Law Enforcement Force met the Grand Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei on Sunday, March 6.
Speaking at the meeting, the Leader called the Law Enforcement Force the manifestation of strength, mercy and affection of the Islamic system. He stressed that the main duty of the force is to combine the indiscriminative enforcement of the law with a friendly attitude toward the people and flexibility when necessary.
Ayatollah Khamenei stated that the Law Enforcement Force should try to perform its duties without any harshness and ill-temperedness, and that it should establish cordial ties with the public in order to further boost its spiritual might, which the Leader said would be more effective and helpful.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces also referred to the fact that the way the Law Enforcement officers treat the people would reflect on the system as a whole. He noted that the high-ranking and commanding officers of the Law Enforcement Force are expected to supervise the observance of piety and moral principles by their personnel at different levels, and that they should also take due measures to promote and consolidate such values in their personnel.
Further in his statements, the Leader expressed his gratitude for the valuable services rendered by the personnel and commanding officers of the Law Enforcement Force and considered the condition of the force more favorable compared with the past.
"While performing the crucial task of maintaining security and order in society and making every effort to serve the public, the personnel and commanding officers of the Law Enforcement Force should act in such a way as to assure the people, especially the underprivileged strata, that they are protected by a watchful and mighty force," Ayatollah Khamenei added.
In conclusion, the Leader of the Islamic Republic emphasized the need to further utilize modern scientific methods for dealing with social abnormalities, corruption and disorder in society.
Before the Leader's address, the Law Enforcement Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf presented a report to the Leader about the outcome of the recent annual gathering of the force's high-ranking officers and the efforts made by the force to promote order and security in society.
