We do not believe in the kind of Shia which is supported by London. We do not consider those Sunnis who are supported by the US and Israel as Muslims. We do not consider them Muslims in any way. Islam is that which is opposed to kufr, to oppression and to arrogance. These are our common points. Our common points are monotheism, Ka'bah and the holy existence of the Holy Prophet (sawas). Our common points are kindness towards the Ahlul Bayt [the Holy Prophet's household] (as). And there are many other common points. All our obligations are among the common points.
Some people feel that in order to prove themselves, as Shia, they must resort to insulting and cursing the great personalities of Sunni Islam and other denominations. But, this is unnecessary; it goes against the traditions of our infallible Imams (as).
When you bear witness to certain radio and television channels, among the Islamic world, that are launched with the purpose to insult the great personalities of other denominations--under the title of Shi'a Islam--it becomes clear that Britain's Treasury finances them. This is British made Shi'a! No one should believe that development of good Shi'a ideology and strengthening their Shi'a faith is dependent on such insults and manner of speech. This is not productive [Insults, and cursing], this course of action will only produce negative results.
When you use offensive language, a wall of anger and hard feelings is built up around the center of your insults: Under such circumstances, they cannot even stand to listen to reason. Meanwhile, we have many cogent and logical ideas: ideas that are cherisheFd by anyone given the opportunity to hear them out and ponder upon them; therefore, allow these great ideals to be heard. Allow these ideals an opportunity to seep into the hearts of those who have a different point of view. When you swear and when you insult those with a different perspective, a wall goes up between the both of you, and this results in your beliefs being blocked out. They will not listen.
Under similar circumstances, malicious, dependent mercenary groups who receive money from USA's CIA and other intelligence agencies – groups such as DAESH, Jibhat al-Nusra, and the like – create situations that you witness today in Iraq, Syria, and other countries; and, they do this by using many foolish, and ignorant individuals. This is the enemy’s mission. He [the enemy] is waiting for his opportunity; in fact, he uses every opportunity.
Today, two willpowers are opposing one another in the region: one is the willpower of unity and another is the willpower of discord. The willpower of unity belongs to believers. The cry of unity and unanimity among Muslims is being released by sincere voices. These voices are inviting Muslims to pay attention to their common goals. If this happens and if this unity is achieved, the condition that Muslims are in today will change and they will achieve dignity.
Presently, Muslims are being killed everywhere--ranging from Myanmar to West Africa--Nigeria and other such countries. Some are killed by Boko Haram and some by the hands of Buddhists. And some people add fuel to the fire of such discord. The American Sunni and British Shi'ism, that turn Muslims against one another, are two blades of the same scissors. They [British Shi'a and American Sunni] are trying to pit Muslims against one another. This is the message that the willpower of discord – which is a satanic willpower – conveys; but, the message of unity is that Muslims should pass through such times of discord: they should stand by one another’s side and work together.
Today, if you look at the statements that arrogant powers and occupiers of other nations’ vital spaces make, you see that they invite people to discord. Since long ago, the English policy has been described as “divide and rule.” “Farraq and tasod” which means “divide and rule.” During a time when England had some power, this was its policy. Today, too, this policy has been adopted by material powers in the world – whether America or lately, again, England. The English have always been a source of malevolence in our region. They have always been a source of misery for nations. Perhaps, the setbacks that they have delivered onto lives of nations, in this region, have few peers in other parts of the world.
In the Indian Subcontinent – which is comprised mainly of India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, presently – they [British] delivered severe blows to the region, and they [British] pressured the people in a very harsh manner; they did so in Afghanistan, in Iran, and in Iraq using various methods. And the final example, of course, is Palestine which is the place where they made that disturbing and malevolent move; wherein, they rendered Muslims and – in fact – a nation homeless, and led them to drift away from their own homes.
We will support the Resistance. We support the territorial integrity of countries. We support all those individuals who resist the divisive policies of America. We confront all those people who create discord.
We do not approve of the brand of Shi'ism whose headquarters are in London [audience chant "Allahu Akbar"] because it is not the kind of Shia that the Holy Prophet's household (greetings be upon them) promoted. The brand of Shi'ism that is based on creating discord and on clearing the road for the presence of Islam's enemies is not real Shia Islam, rather it is deviation. Shia Islam is the epitome of original Islam and the Holy Quran. We will support all those people who help us towards unity, and we will oppose all those who act against unity...
Intensifying discord throughout the world of Islam is forbidden. We are opposed to the behavior of some Shia groups, as it leads to discord. We have said outspokenly that we are opposed to insulting the holy beliefs of Sunnis. Some people from both sides intensify and add fuel to the fire set by enmities. Many of them have good intentions, but they do not have foresight. Foresight is key: we should look ahead to understand the enemy's plan. The enemy's initial plan is to create discord, and his next plan is exerting his influence.
