The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, attended the graduation ceremony of the third batch of cadets of various military academies of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army on Wednesday, September 28.
At the beginning of the ceremony, which was held at Imam Ali (greetings be upon him) Military Academy, the anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran was played when the Leader entered the parade ground. Then, Ayatollah Khamenei paid homage to the honorable martyrs of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army in front of the Martyrs Memorial.
Afterwards, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces reviewed the military units present on the parade ground.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ayatollah Khamenei described the armed forces as the symbol and manifestation of national power and dignity and the strength to defend the identity of the nation.
"In the present world, in which the material desires and ambitions of those wielding power have replaced spiritual and human values, only a nation that relies on its inherent ability and potential will be able to protect its honor and dignity," Ayatollah Khamenei told the audience.
Further in his statements, the Leader of the Islamic Republic noted that the recruitment of new forces will increase the level of knowledge and commitment of different organizations. He stressed that the new graduates who will be recruited by various units of the armed forces should make every effort to raise the level of efficiency of their organizations.
"This goal can be achieved through reliance on Almighty Allah, piety and virtue, innovation, creativity and the observance of military discipline," the Leader pointed out.
Ayatollah Khamenei also referred to scientific knowledge, defensive power and appropriate groundwork for the development of talents as the main factors contributing to the power and dignity of a nation.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army Major General Ata'ollah Salehi welcomed the Leader of the Islamic Republic and underlined the army's preparedness to defend the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.
Furthermore, a number of war-disabled veterans, former prisoners of war, the families of martyrs and exemplary military instructors and cadets received awards from Ayatollah Khamenei.
Afterwards, the military units present on the parade ground marched past the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
At the end of the ceremony, Ayatollah Khamenei inspected the combat helicopter simulator and also the shoulder-supported anti-aircraft missile launcher simulator that have been designed and manufactured by the specialists of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army.
