Councilors in Charge of Commemorating Martyr Motahhari Call on the Leader

Members of the central council of the headquarters in charge of commemorating the martyred Professor Morteza Motahhari called on the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei on Sunday, April 30.

In an address to the audience, the Leader referred to the exalted martyr as an erudite philosopher who was well versed in Islamic jurisprudence and mysticism.

"Among renowned Islamic philosophers, martyr Motahhari was the only philosopher whose philosophical viewpoint also dealt with social and political issues and even with those issues that were related to the everyday lives of human beings. Therefore, this unique feature of Professor Motahhari should be introduced and expounded in an appropriate manner," the Leader noted.

Ayatollah Khamenei described the elucidation of the martyr Motahhari's philosophical viewpoint and identity as the most necessary measure that should be taken at the present stage. He stated that it is the duty of broad-minded scholars and philosophers familiar with Motahhari's works to introduce and elucidate his philosophical school.

Further in his statements, the Leader expressed his gratitude for the measures already taken to publish martyr Motahhari's works and familiarize different social strata, especially students at various academic levels, with his works.

"The exposition of the martyr Motahhari's philosophical school as the source of his intellectual viewpoint will make it possible to conduct more comprehensive research into the different aspects of his works," the Leader told the audience.
