Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Tuesday afternoon with the minister, deputies and managers of the Ministry of Intelligence. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence described this ministry as a very important and sensitive trench and as the watchful and vigilant eye of the Islamic Republic, reiterating: “The Ministry of Intelligence is the hard layer of the Islamic Republic and therefore, it should not be damaged in any way.”
Thanking the pious and round-the-clock efforts of the different divisions of the Ministry of Intelligence, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that the victory and survival of the Islamic Revolution lies in preserving faith, adding: “The frustration of global arrogance in the face of the Islamic Republic, despite the large number of plots and various methods that it has used against the Revolution since the first day, was not possible except with a source of support, namely ‘faith’.”
Ayatollah Khamenei described every course of action that weakens the faith of the people and officials as treason and said: “The defensive force that has preserved the country throughout all these years is the force of faith. If this efficient and capable weapon is undermined, this will be followed by many maladies.”
His Eminence stressed that spiritual aspects and aspects related to faith should be strengthened in the Ministry of Intelligence. He added: “The Ministry of Intelligence is the hard layer of the Islamic Republic that should not be damaged in any way. This is why strengthening important elements such as faith and spirituality in this organization should receive more attention than any other organization.”
Referring to the large capacity of the Ministry of Intelligence for benefiting from pious and revolutionary youth, he stated: “You should do something to help the new generation in the Ministry of Intelligence to grow and develop in a revolutionary manner, as was the case with previous generations.”
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution described the Ministry of Intelligence as the watchful and vigilant eye of the Islamic Republic and stressed: “The principles and orientations of the Islamic Revolution should be completely preserved in the Ministry of Intelligence.”
Defining the principles of the Islamic Revolution as the works and statements of Imam Khomeini (r.a.), Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: “The act of distancing oneself from the center of arrogance – that is to say, America – is one of the most important and definite principles of our magnanimous Imam (r.a.). Therefore, there is no room for negligence and carelessness in this regard.”
His Eminence added: “The Ministry of Intelligence should be present in every area that can be a base for the enemy to ambush and harm the Islamic Republic and it should consider such areas as areas within the remit of their responsibility.”
The role of the Ministry of Intelligence in achieving the economy of resistance was another point that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to: “The cure for eliminating the problems of the country is the economy of resistance. Certain tasks have been carried out in this regard, but the result of such tasks should be seen in practice.”
At the end of his statements, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed the role of the Ministry of Intelligence in confronting and preventing economic corruption.
