The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei led the Eid-al-Fitr (the Fast-Breaking Feast) prayers in Tehran on Tuesday, October 24.
Hundreds of thousands of devoted Tehran residents took part in the glorious Eid-al-Fitr prayers, held at the Imam Khomeini Prayer Grounds, following one month of fasting, worship and supplication to Almighty Allah.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader referred to the massive nationwide rallies and parades on the International Day of Quds as an indication of the political awareness and dynamism of the Iranian people.
"By the favor of Allah, the Iranian nation's slogans in support of the oppressed people of Palestine were echoed in the Islamic countries and many other parts of the world. Besides, the victory of the Lebanese Hezbollah also raised the political morale of the Islamic Ummah to a considerable extent and cheered Muslims throughout the world," Ayatollah Khamenei told the worshippers.
In the second sermon of the Eid-al-Fitr prayers, the Leader hinted at the great importance of the forthcoming elections for the Experts Assembly and the Islamic councils throughout the country. He called on the Iranian citizens to show a massive turnout at the polling stations.

"The Iranian people, motivated by a sense of religious duty and responsibility, will massively take part in the upcoming Experts Assembly elections and establish a powerful assembly. The fact of the matter is that the stronger and the more efficient the Experts Assembly is, to the greater extent the interests of the country and the nation are ensured," Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out.
The Leader also referred to the Islamic councils in the urban and rural regions as a manifestation of democracy and described their elections as very important.
