Ayatollah Khamenei

No security means no business, no diplomacy or education: Ayatollah Khamenei

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said, "The Establishment of security is of foremost importance towards management of various affairs in the society."

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Sunday morning with police commanders and personnel. Describing security as an issue of utmost importance, His Eminence stressed that the officials of the Police Force should exercise complete and serious supervision over the mental, moral and behavioral health of their personnel, further adding: “You should base plans on ‘reason and logic’, ‘determination and power’, and ‘legality and affection’ so that a very good impression of NAJA [the Police Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran] is left in the minds of our appreciative people.”

Referring to a number of important events in the recent months, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution thanked the commanders and personnel of the Police Force and the Minister of Interior for their efforts in ensuring security during the 10-day Fajr ceremonies and 22nd of Bahman rallies, in holding, in a peaceful manner, the two phases of the Islamic Consultative Majlis elections and also Assembly of Experts elections, and in showing their sense of responsibility in the area of road safety during Norouz holidays.

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that although the number of road accidents and causalities has decreased, but it is still fairly high. He asked the Police Force and other responsible organizations to make efforts so that this figure continues to decrease.

Describing security as a very significant matter – one that is of utmost importance – His Eminence mentioned that without security, people’s daily lives and scientific, academic, economic and managerial activities cannot go on, further stating: “Action and implementation in the area of the economy of resistance and the formation of the blessed tree of a home-grown economy require security as well.”

He called on the Police Force and other responsible organizations to investigate the roots of insecurity and stressed that all organizations should help the Police Force on this matter. He added: “Moral health, precision, and high motivation in high-ranking commanders of the Police Force and the fatherly behavior of the honorable Minister of Interior towards the Police Force are valuable opportunities which should be utilized more than before in order to reach the desired goals.”

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the administration should help the Police Force to improve itself quantitatively and qualitatively. Stressing the necessity to pay more attention to the issue of popular assistance, His Eminence stated: “With careful research, the Police Force and the Ministry of Interior should specify and announce the arenas in which the people can help.”

Referring to the close relations between the Police Force and the masses of the people, Ayatollah Khamenei described the health of this force as very important and said: “Mental, moral and behavioral health in the Police Force as well as attracting the people’s support will strengthen the relations between the Police Force and different classes of the people.”

His Eminence mentioned that the main requirement for the health of the Police Force is the existence of thorough, comprehensive and permanent supervision. He also placed great emphasis on the presence of the Police Force throughout the country, and on ensuring security in all residential areas including suburban and distant areas, and small cities.

He stated that the issue of moral security and the people’s concerns in this regard is among the important issues that the Police Force should attend to: “Addiction, malicious behavior, and the violation of norms will threaten the people’s lives and the physical and moral security of society. Therefore, by benefiting from the expert views of intellectual and broad-minded individuals – particularly individuals inside the Police Force itself – we should plan for confronting these matters in a careful manner.”

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated: “In the case of issues that are related to moral security, after doing careful, thorough, reasonable and proper planning, we should not pay attention to the opposition that some individuals put up and the uproar that some media create, rather we should move the task forward with reliance on God.”

Ayatollah Khamenei described the formation of a good image of the Police Force in the minds of the people as necessary, adding: “The Police Force should be portrayed as a ‘compassionate and powerful companion’ in the minds of the people.”

His Eminence added: “Showing power and decisiveness without cruelty, benefiting from intrinsic health, being present in a timely and quick manner, acting in a kind and helpful way towards the people and observing the law are factors that will help create a positive image of the Police Force.”

He stressed that if these things are achieved, the ground will be prepared for the progress of the Police Force and its contribution in the public progress of the country.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution described the process of the country’s progress as very good and persistent despite the 37-year efforts of the enemies and added: “With support from the people, the Islamic Republic has brought the enemies to their knees. The effort of the enemies to create despair, pessimism and discord in the country originates from their anger at the achievements of Iran.”

Ayatollah Khamenei called on all the people and officials to take care of the current unity in the country: “Creating polarizations, and dual systems and orientations is one of the lethal blows that the enemy wants to deliver.”

Dispelling doubts about the negative social conditions of Iran, His Eminence stated that like any other country, Iran suffers from some deviation and disorder: “In order to analyze the general conditions of Iran, we should pay attention to the public movement of the country. By Allah’s favor, this public and general movement is very good.”

At the end of his statements, he described the activities of the ideological-political division of the Police Force – in strengthening religious motives in NAJA in a skillful manner – as valuable and praiseworthy.
