We Answer Honorable Policies with Sincerity

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Tuesday morning with Victor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary. .

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Tuesday morning with Victor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary. Eshaq Jahangiri, the First Vice President of Iran, was also present in the meeting. Pointing to the numerous areas for cooperation between Iran and Hungary, His Eminence stated that the logic of the Islamic Republic is to cooperate with other nations, reiterating: “The policy that the administration of Hungary has adopted in its ‘Look Toward Asia’ policy, is a correct policy which can be a source of increasing cooperation.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed out that the volume of economic and non-economic relations between Iran and Hungary is small, adding: “The people of Iran do not have any bitter memories about Hungary. Considering that your accompanying delegation enjoys a good balance, we hope that with determination and willpower, this trip can be a preliminary step to increasing cooperation.”

“The policy that the administration of Hungary has adopted in its ‘Look Toward Asia’ policy, is a correct policy which can be a source of increasing cooperation.

Ayatollah Khamenei mentioned that the logic of the Islamic Republic is to cooperate with all humans and all nations, saying: “Of course, there are certain exceptions for which there are clear reasons, but apart from these exceptions, we answer honorable feelings and policies with sincerity.”

Expressing his agreement with the statements of the Prime Minister of Hungary regarding the necessity for nations and governments to gain a mutual understanding about one another as the basis for cooperation, His Eminence said: “There should be a fundamental system and structure for cooperation and for economic, scientific, cultural and educational exchanges.”

“Today, realities are portrayed in a distorted manner in the propaganda environment of the world and such murky environments will be to the disadvantage of humans and humanity.”

He stressed that the source of many enmities and grudges is lack of a correct and mutual understanding between nations. He added: “Today, realities are portrayed in a distorted manner in the propaganda environment of the world and such murky environments will be to the disadvantage of humans and humanity.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran has conducted decent and sympathetic discourses between the world of Islam and the world of Christianity, reiterating: “Benefitting from these opportunities with the purpose of increasing common points and clarifying truths is a step towards gaining a correct understanding about one another, particularly about Islamic rules and decrees.”

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that the existence of vast propaganda against the Islamic Republic in the last four decades is another instance of the hypocritical behavior of propaganda apparatuses towards the truth: “Negotiations and exchanges between intellectuals and scholars is to the advantage of the truth and in line with clarifying it. For this reason, we agree with such exchanges.”

Elsewhere in his statements, His Eminence described the analysis delivered by the Prime Minister of Hungary about the appalling conditions of the west in different economic and defensive areas and the existence of spiritual crises and cultural problems as shrewd and close to the reality, adding: “It is many years now that some sympathetic western thinkers have pointed out the existence of this danger and that they have been issuing warnings about it. Of course, a spiritual growth is being formed – in a gradual and intangible way – in both Europe and America which is pivoted around the youth. In the future, it might be possible for Europe to create a harmony between material, scientific and technological achievements, and spirituality.”

Expressing joy at his presence in Iran, Victor Orban said: “I have come to Iran with a large business and economic delegation in order to strengthen our mutual relations and I believe that there are numerous capacities for cooperation between the two countries.”

The Prime Minister of Hungary stressed the necessity of strengthening the structure for cooperation, saying: “Mutual understanding is the basis for permanent and enduring cooperation. Considering the outstanding and honorable position of Iran in international equations, we hope that with your support, we can create an opportunity for mutual cooperation at different levels.”

“As long as we were involved in revolutionary activities, we did not have a problem, but as soon as they found out that we are going to build a new system for the country, they began negative propaganda against us.” -Victor Orban

Pointing to the statements of the Leader about the effort made by western propaganda apparatuses to portray truths in a distorted manner, he described himself and his cabinet members as revolutionary elements against occupation, stating: “As long as we were involved in revolutionary activities, we did not have a problem, but as soon as they found out that we are going to build a new system for the country, they began negative propaganda against us.”

Orban reiterated that international equations are changing, adding: “These rapid changes have tarnished the image that the west and global powers have created about themselves, placing them in an appalling psychological state. The centrality of ‘development’ has made former standards and values of the west – in the areas of ethics, politics and religion – to be on the verge of destruction and this has brought about difficult and sensitive conditions.”

According to the Prime Minister of Hungary, problems such as “population decline”, “the loss of familial values and encouragement to form morally unhealthy families”, “continuous economic crises”, “the enervation of security and defensive capabilities” and “the presence of terrorists” are issues that Europe is dealing with in the present time. He said: “These crises have forced the west to shift its attitude and outlook closer to the east so that it can find solutions by recovering spiritual values.”
