In the Name of Allah, the Almighty

I received the news of the demise of renowned Basiji poet late Mohammad-Reza Aghasi with sorrow and regret. This sad and tragic incident is a great loss to the committed Iranian art and literature, particularly to our religious and revolutionary poetry.

The fluent, meaningful and well-structured poems of late Aghasi, which revealed his pure heart, lofty emotions and outstanding poetic skill, indeed hold a high status in our contemporary literature.

I express my heartfelt condolences over the demise of this honorable poet to the Iranian literary community, the poets and those interested in his works, especially to his bereaved family, friends and companions.

I pray to Almighty Allah to bestow remission and blessings on the soul of this devoted Basiji poet.
