Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Tuesday morning with Heinz Fischer, the President of Austria. President Rouhani was also present in the meeting. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence stated that the U.S. government shows enmity towards the Islamic Revolution because it has lost its interests in Iran. He described the willingness of some European countries to follow America's hostile policies towards Iran as unreasonable, reiterating: "Of course, Austria is not among these countries and it is necessary for the officials of both countries to adopt the necessary measures in order to strengthen the relations."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the main goal of the Islamic Revolution is providing happiness for the people of Iran and all peoples in the world in the shade of God's path, the rule of reason, and faith accompanied by action, adding: "Of course, this well-intentioned outlook of ours has certain enemies on a global level. These enemies are after waging wars and pitting nations against each other, but Iran has many good and close friends among governments and nations as well."
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the unreasonable enmity of some European countries towards Iran after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, stressing: "The Islamic Revolution recaptured Iran from the Americans while prior to that our country had been completely in their control. This is the main reason behind the enmity of America towards the Islamic Republic, but the obedience of some European countries to America is unreasonable as well. Of course, Austria is not among these countries."
When the President of Austria asked about the future of the relations between Iran and European countries, His Eminence mentioned that it is important to adopt the necessary measures in order to strengthen the relations between Iran and Austria. He added: "European governments have said certain things in this regard, but we should wait for the practical results of these statements."
He also touched on the crimes committed by takfiri groups in the name of Islam, saying: "Islam is not what these orientations introduce, rather Islam is based on a strong ideology and on compelling logic."
Thanking Iran for its hospitality, Heinz Fischer also described his negotiations with the Iranian officials as positive, reiterating: "We should work on different matters so that we reach more agreements."
The President of Austria expressed his satisfaction at the Leader's positive outlook towards Austria, stating: "My meeting with Mr. Rouhani was a good one and we too are optimistic towards the future because in the present time, there is a new opportunity for cooperation."
