Leader's Note to Conference on Combating Corruption

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, wrote a note in response to the letter written by Mr. Jahangiri, the First Vice President of Iran, about improving the health of the bureaucratic system of the country and combating corruption. In his letter, Mr. Jahangiri had pointed to the presence of the officials in the three branches of government, executive and public organizations, private and popular groups and the media in this conference. The following is the full text of Ayatollah Khamenei's note written on December 8, 2014.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

I applaud your effort to combat corruption, but what miracle are this conference and similar ones going to accomplish? Is the situation not clear for you officials in the three branches of government? Considering the favorable and promising relations - in terms of unity, cooperation and solidarity - that exists among officials, why is no decisive and fundamental move made so that everyone can visibly witness the results? I expect the honorable gentlemen- with or without holding a conference- to take and implement decisive and practical decisions without any other considerations.

May you be successful.
