Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met this morning with the head, judges and officials of the judiciary. At the meeting, which was held on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Shahid Beheshti and 72 of his companions on the 7th of Tir in the year 1360, His Eminence expressed his gratitude for the initiatives by the judiciary and described the epic presence of the Iranian people in the presidential elections on the 24th of Khordad as an exceptional achievement.
Stressing the need for helping the president-elect, he stated: "Comprehensive failure of the plans and goals of the enemies, revealing the people's trust in the Islamic Republic and in the officials and observers in charge of the elections, the existence of stable security as the foundation of progress and development, the noble attitude of the other candidates towards the president-elect and their submission to the law, and the power of the Islamic Republic to defend the interests of the Iranian nation were among the important points about the recent elections."
Ayatollah Khamenei praised the outstanding and spiritual personality of Ayatollah Beheshti and added: "That evil crime resulted in the martyrdom of outstanding personalities, great religious scholars and sincere government officials, but it also exposed the evil face of munafeqeen and their arrogant supporters to the Iranian nation. And this was a great development that effectively destroyed munafeqeen's chances of survival in the country and it also determined the destiny of the Islamic Republic."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution expressed his gratitude for the valuable and informative statements by the head of the judiciary Ayatollah Amoli Larijani and added: "It is necessary to express sincere gratitude for the valuable actions and efforts of the honorable officials and employees of the judiciary system."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the health and efficiency of the judiciary are two strategic and permanent goals of the judiciary system and stressed: "These two lofty goals should be the focus of attention in all plans and actions so that the judiciary becomes a completely efficient and healthy organization."
His Eminence said that the efficiency and health of the judiciary system will lead to a sense of satisfaction and security among the people, adding: "The judiciary should reach a point where every oppressed person can feel safe under its protection and stand up against oppression."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that constant vigilance and persistent efforts will prepare the ground for the judiciary to reach its goals. He reiterated that it is necessary to bridge the gap between the existing conditions of the judiciary and the ideal Islamic conditions.
His Eminence added: "Of course, following this difficult path requires time, but the important point is that all efforts should be directed at eliminating the shortcomings and achieving the desired result."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the judiciary's awareness of the existing shortcomings is a positive point and added that all actions should be based on the approved plans so that the existing shortcomings can be eliminated and the judiciary system can improve on a daily basis.
Elsewhere in his statements, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Iranian nation for its massive turnout in the presidential elections and added: "It is necessary to continue analyzing and paying attention to the truths and outstanding points about this election."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to the complex and multi-faceted plans by the enemies of the Iranian nation over the past year and reiterated: "The enemies and opponents of the Islamic Republic tried to either prevent the election from being held or encourage the people to treat it with apathy and indifference."
His Eminence added: "They had prepared plans for the aftermath of the elections as well so that they could pursue their evil goals under different pretexts, but by Allah's favor, the Iranian nation exhibited its skill and greatness on election day and what happened was the exact opposite of what the enemies wanted."
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the efforts by foreigners to impose baseless interpretations on the enthusiastic presence of the people in the elections and reiterated: "The efforts by enemies to create doubts about the health of the elections were among the methods that the enemies used to discourage the people from taking part in the elections. But the people acted in a way that propaganda machines of the arrogant powers were forced to admit the enthusiastic and massive presence of the people on election day."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed: "The secret behind the massive presence of the people in this year's elections showed the trust and interest of the people in the Islamic Republic, their trust in the observers and officials in charge of holding the elections and their hope in the constant progressive movement of dear Iran. And this is a very important and undeniable truth."
His Eminence referred to the statements that he had made before the election and reiterated: "On that day, I said that if there are people whose hearts might not be with the Islamic Republic but who are concerned about Iran and our national interests, they should take part in the elections. Some of the voters must fall into this category."
His Eminence added: "This truth shows that even those who do not support the Islamic Republic trust the system and its elections because they know that the solid Islamic Republic is like a lion that is standing against greedy people and is appropriately defending the country and our national interests and pride."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that there was complete security throughout the country on election day. Referring to the coincidence of presidential and city and village councils elections, he stated: "In the city and village councils elections, it is usually the case that there may be conflicts and insecurity due to the role of complex tribal, local and ethnic backgrounds, but by Allah's favor and thanks to the cooperation of the people and the efforts of government officials and organizations, there was no sign of insecurity in the recent elections."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the noble behavior of the presidential candidates and their submission to the law are very important and that one should be thankful to God for this.
His Eminence said: "The meetings that the other candidates arranged with the president-elect and expressed their congratulations and happiness, made the people happy and it is necessary to thank them."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to the bitter events of the year 1388 and his repeated emphasis on the necessity of obeying the law, further adding: "It was possible to find fault with this election as well and disregard the impressive presence of the people and cause bitter events for the people by creating disputes and conflicts. However, the noble behavior of the defeated candidates and their obedience to the law brought about a sense of peace and happiness for the people. And this obedience to the law should forever remain a lesson for everybody."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the massive presence of the people in the elections was due to divine guidance and added: "Thanks to this divine blessing, the election became a true instance of valor and the wishes of benevolent people were realized."
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the need for helping the president-elect and added: "Managing the country is very difficult and all people and organizations should help the president who has been elected by the people."
His Eminence added: "Constructive criticism is definitely good for the progress of the country, but all of us should remember that it is easy to stand aside and criticize and that executive work is difficult. Therefore, all of us should help the president-elect."
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the necessity of avoiding hasty actions and unreasonable demands, further stating: "It is wrong to make hasty judgments. Rather, we need to move things forward in the country through cooperation and solidarity."
At the end of his statements, His Eminence criticized some of the statements that were made by the presidential candidates during their election campaigns and added: "The incumbent administration enjoys many strengths as well as certain weaknesses. It would have been very good if the honorable candidates had even-handedly mentioned the incumbent administration's important services and projects relating to development and infrastructure while pointing out the weaknesses."
Referring to the nuclear issue, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed: "As was pointed out on the first day of this year, a few countries - which have formed a front against Iran and falsely refer to themselves as the international community - are stubbornly determined to prevent the nuclear issue from being resolved, but if they stop being stubborn, it is easy to resolve the issue."
Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: "On many occasions, the nuclear issue came close to being resolved, but the Americans created new pretexts."
His Eminence referred to the written document that has been signed by the International Atomic Energy Agency and added: "In this document, the International Atomic Energy Agency has announced that the problems about Iran's nuclear issue have been eliminated and that the nuclear case should have been closed. However, the Americans immediately created new issues because they believe that the nuclear issue is a good pretext to threaten and pressure Iran."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to the efforts by the Zionists to provoke other countries against Iran and reiterated: "The Islamic Republic has acted in a legal and transparent way in the case of the nuclear issue and it has presented solid arguments in its reasoning. However, the goal of the enemies is to keep up the pressure and make the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic tired. For this reason, they prevent the issue from being resolved."
His Eminence added: "Of course, the enemies say in their statements and letters that they are not after a regime change, but their actions go against their statements."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed: "For them, the nuclear issue, human rights, democracy and other such things are completely unimportant. They are only after preventing the Iranian nation from making progress and regaining their domination over our dear Iran. However, the Islamic Republic is standing firm and it is defending the interests of the Iranian nation in a powerful and independent way while relying on the people and having faith in Allah the Exalted."
His Eminence reiterated: "Experience has shown that anybody who is steadfast on the path of truth will be victorious and there is no doubt that the Iranian nation will slap the enemies across the face in this regard."
