In a meeting with a group of high-ranking officials from the three branches of government, Ayatollah Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic Revolution called on all government officials to make serious efforts to support domestic production. He stressed: "The fact that the enemies of the Islamic Republic have focused on economic issues shows that supporting national production is a necessity in current conditions."
His Eminence said that the arrogant powers are making comprehensive efforts to increase economic pressures on the Islamic Republic of Iran, further adding: "In spite of the comprehensive efforts by the enemies of the Islamic Republic, our youth and government officials will utilize all the facilities and capacities of the country and will bring about another failure for the arrogant powers by relying on their determination, faith and vigilance."
The Leader of the Islamic Republic stressed that the most obvious reason for the futility of the efforts by the arrogant powers is that more than 30 years of sanctions and economic pressures on the Islamic Republic have proven ineffective.
His Eminence said that cooperation between the Majlis and the executive branch is one of the requirements of supporting national production and confronting the efforts of the arrogant powers. "Today the country needs efforts, dynamism and innovation in different areas. And cooperation among government officials - especially in the Majlis and the administration - is the requirement to achieve this goal."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the arrogant powers, reactionary people, great capitalists and corrupt and disgraced individuals have come together to form a front against the Islamic Republic. He reiterated: "Over the past three decades, several such fronts have been established in order to bring the Islamic Republic to its knees, but the camp of satans has been defeated at every juncture."
Ayatollah Khamenei added: "Our national unity and solidarity has been one of the main reasons behind the failure of the enemies of the Islamic Republic."
His Eminence highlighted the role of the executive and legislative branches of government in supporting national production and added: "The Majlis and the executive branch should take practical steps to support national production with sincere cooperation."
Elsewhere in his statements, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the need to avoid consuming foreign products the equivalents of which are also produced inside the country. He added that the IRIB should promote consumption of domestic products in the country.
